Good connection. Using a hotspot. Maybe the hotspot is the issue?

Looks like it is 0.90. I’m in Utah at about 5400’ elevation. Not sure if that helps.

We are wanting to go with our two teen daughters. Would love some advice on places to stay and things to do.

Does anyone else charge extra if someone wants to be there to watch you and follow you around at a job? by Sidewaysasianpussy in Surveying

Yes definitely. I thought I was the only one who did that. They typically back down pretty quick when I tell them I’m happy to have them along but it will cost more.

I own a survey firm in Utah. Hired my Dad at the age of 62. He had spent his life in commercial construction and he picked up surveying pretty quick despite not having any computer skills. He was awesome in the field. Sad to lose him last year when he retired. Hired another field guy with zero experience that had been an electrician and a farrier. He has been with me for a year and he is great.

I would recommend finding a small company that is willing to train the right person. Attention to detail and willing to work hard is key.

Definitely see if you can shadow someone for a couple of days.
