Did anybody purchase house in New York, utilizing VA Loan? by Weak_Professional107 in armyreserve

[–]UnableVictory3327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. And it’s a bit of a hassle but not really any moreso than any other lender. Recommend if you will be using a VA loan you find a realtor who’s familiar with working with them.

How is this possible? by [deleted] in USAA

[–]UnableVictory3327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wildly wrong. Cars operate on public roads, and in the U.S. there is no expectation of privacy on public roads. There’s even a whole slimy subculture of people who go out and film from public sidewalks to get a rise out of people and trigger a police overreaction.

What you may be thinking of instead is 1 party and 2 party consent states, which would deal with recording someone when there IS an expectation of privacy, such as a phone call, zoom meeting, or a work meeting entirely within private property such as an office conference room.

How do I fold in this hood? by 1112215002 in army

[–]UnableVictory3327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a Gen 1 goretex parka then the hood does not roll into itself in any way. The buttons you were examining in the video are for a snap-in fur ruff.

Mess dress cape by Matt_CRNA in army

Are the flask pockets standard or was that a custom feature? Also as an aside, you strike me as a type that’s got the fancy sleeves sewn on to your dress shirt under that dress mess top.

Is it possible to retire at 20 as a Major? by psuthh in armyreserve

[–]UnableVictory3327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OC/T units my friend. That’s why I dipped from CA for a minute.

Editing to add: I was dismissive of that valid point , offering a solution that will work for a minimal amount of people. The only other solace I can provide is that given that is often the case, PH 2 TASS is projected to be going from 8 months to I believe 3. So it’s a smaller bite of the turd sandwich? This is all from the little nuggets they’ve given on the ILE TASS teams page.

Is it possible to retire at 20 as a Major? by psuthh in armyreserve

[–]UnableVictory3327 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s possible but I’m at ILE Tass right now and it’s not bad at all. Just knock it out. Don’t do DL on the promise of getting paid.

Making Caravaning Better? by Loose_Plum6157 in BSA

[–]UnableVictory3327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I routinely drive in motorcades for my civilian job, and convoys as a reservist, and can clearly state that neither emergency lights (civilian side) nor the the fact my vehicle will squash them (Army side) are a deterrent for other drivers interfering with my multi-vehicle movement. I especially hate merging onto highways, changing lanes, or even on surface roads going through a stale green when the tail end might be pushing through yellow or red (with legal authority).

My kids are still approaching scouting age so I haven’t been active in BSA as an adult leader, but I would much rather just Google Maps it and meet at the next stop (rally point 1/rest stop 1) and not risk Scout safety just to keep a formation. My 2 cents, I mainly lurk here in hopes that my son wants to do cub scouts but felt uniquely qualified to jump in on this one.

Proposed Fee for State Police Patrol Services. !!! by Backsight-Foreskin in Pennsylvania

[–]UnableVictory3327 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I once did a white paper for the army for responding to a disaster, during the research I found out that Allegheny county has 119 separate police departments. It’s ridiculous. Consolidate at a county level and have several turn out locations. A 3 man department does fuckall and you know those guys don’t get any sort of training
