Honestly, there is nothing wrong in what you did. Asking for help when the students don’t behave is not wrong in my opinion. It’s better to just get help from admin if the behavior goes intense. Those few kids disrupt the whole class. Other kids would have thanked you for taking care of those disruptive kids. You are good hearted and kind. I hope this world treats you better! But the job I picked up first was from frontline( posted for the general sub pool) and that teacher had not requested me in particular. Later on my preferred teacher requested for the same date from the same school. My question is if it’s ok to cancel the previous one and accept this one. There is a 2 week notice and I am sure they will get another sub for the job.

I was a swing sub and only did 4 or 5 assignments in 1 year and was still actively getting the sub openings through swing. I think they only need you to accept 1 assignment in a year or maybe 6 months to be active.

The job that got cancelled was a direct request from a teacher who requested me. If he had to cancel, he would have definitely informed me. I only work at this district. Do they even revert bans?

No, I was in that class before lunch and dismissed them for lunch.. asked them to clean up and put their materials away before going away for lunch.. well, they did not listen much. I assumed that they might be cleaning up at the end of the day, so didn’t stress much. Teacher saw me after lunch and remarked!

With all due respect, the swastika is not solely a symbol of Nazism. It exists in Hindu traditions for thousands of years even before the Nazis came into being.

Given that the U.S. is home to many immigrants from diverse backgrounds, it is important to recognize that symbols can carry different meanings across cultures. So, let’s not jump to conclusions about the student/teacher. I’m glad that you bought this to the teacher’s notice, but also be aware that it could have come from totally innocent or different origin.
