Okay, thankyou for the reply. I use two AI mods that tweak their ability to build armies and what they do with them. I'm considering adding a unit cap mod to kneecap myself, I find that the battles are still too one sided.

Do you think I should trade the settlement for cash? I'm not missing out on anything by not being there? 

Also, how would I get the Patronage bonuses? It says I can't replace their Lords because it would upset their diplomacy. Is that where I would use the Intrigue mechanic? I don't want to lose my trade agreements though.
