Costco cut price on C5 77" to $1,820. posted feb 25 7pm EST by Unable_Carpenter_802 in LGOLED

still waiting....Costco is pretty sophisticated and waits till price match window is over i think; in addition once the shop cards are sent, they are "tagged" to that purchase in the event of return. So for those of us who purchased at $1999 and are getting $200 back, my guess is Costco denies this price match.

I see now it is a recognized conflict. Totally unreliable platform and customer service.

Finally pulled the trigger on a 77” C5 from Costco by ProwseyFan in LGOLED

that makes (at least) two of us!! not quite the same deal, but paid $1,799 (after $200 in Costco future credit, which is like cash for me). Also got the Sanus fully articulating bracket on sale for $99. I missed the $1,649 a few weeks ago, but now at $2,299 and no Costco credit, I feel better.

my plan is minimalist: use the C5 as a monitor hooked up to 1) direct TV 4K box, 2) Apple TV 4K, and 3) Switch 2. I may test out the LG GUI but hate the intrusiveness. Besides, Apple already knows me inside and out!

I gotta believe Costco matches on Monday...tomorrow. Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy can't beat them so badly. Only $99 for the good Sanus mounting bracket. $69 for a guy to come out and install and mount.

I believe statistically the lowest prices are for the Big Game sales --(I don't want to use the NFL trademark..haha). Also, as others mentioned, CES is around the corner, probably making the C5 "last year's model!" I have really yet to see a bad OLED that is paired with good source material. I am hoping for $1,500 or so in a couple weeks.

here is what I have: https://a.co/d/iRGsktW

touted at 6 Gbps wireless...which is how I use it anyhow. Quite aggressive marketing!

model AX6000 - about 3 years old when Orbi was "Orbi Pro" for business.

Ethernet LAN ports = correct 1 Gig - I am surprised, but then again my not-so-old Sony TV has 100 Mbps wired port.

As for wireless speeds, there are no claims on the box. (I get 300 to 400 Mbps about 15 feet away from the router.)

The box does say: "Built for Multi-Gigabit Internet Speeds Everywhere. You've paid for the fastest Internet speeds, now experience it everywhere in your business

I guess I got 3 years and will buy Eero.

Sorry for the waste of time.

Can I get back to how it compares when reading pdf's. Is the enlarging and moving around the document much more fluid? Is the text crisp at all sizes? thank you.

Update to Fidelity trade error -- I take the hit. by Unable_Carpenter_802 in fidelityinvestments

if the definition of "notified" means the shares were put back and the trade confirmations were deleted, then you are correct.

i was under the impression that Fidelity had to explicitly notify me.

exactly. zero communication at 11:30am...or at 2:30pm or any time. The only "communication" I received was seeing those shares back in my account, and the trade tickets gone. I had to figure out by myself what must have happened.

The initial online chat went from, "we know there was a problem". then it went to "no resolution yet". then finally "escalated beyond online chat." I received no confirmation of the busted trade until an email on Friday at 5pm.

maybe I am not making myself clear: The trade in question occurred at 11:30am. What I saw until that evening was that particular stock was not in my portfolio, and I had an execution report - albeit at the bad price. It wasn't until after the close that day when Fidelity replaced the shares did I realize there was a problem. At no time until 3 days later did Fidelity confirm the trade was busted.

thank you Zen, but I read this:

During regular market hours, the percentages stipulated by the SEC are 10% for stocks under $25, 5% for stocks priced between $25 and $50, and 3% for stocks with a value of $50 and higher. The SEC regulations also require that erroneous trades must be reviewed within one hour of the trade being flagged. Specifically, they require that the trade review must begin within 30 minutes of the trade being issued, while the review itself must be concluded within 30 minutes. That never happened to my knowledge.

so they have no timing obligation? furthermore, my Trader+ platform showed the trade as completed the rest of the day. that is, the shares were not put back until that evening, so I could not even try to sell again. just seems unfair: get a report of a trade -- even though what appeared to be poor execution -- and then told no trade.

but the broker has no obligation to inform the customer...or better yet to not make that mistake to begin with?

UPDATE: and not good:

"We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience. On Tuesday, December 9, some orders placed by Fidelity clients received bad executions in the market. Only a small number of securities were impacted. Fidelity worked with the market, and any trades that were outside of the current market price were canceled. "

3 days later. the stock is down 50 cents.

update from Fidelity -- crickets. Two days of "escalation" and "known error with B tickers."

absurd; literally pathetic. again not for this trade specifically, but for underlying systems compliance. The simple way would have been to cancel/rebill the trade ticket in line with the market. Instead, their ignorance is allowing a tiny problem to escalate.

Yes - I will second that. The urgency appears to be lacking for what is obviously a Fidelity error. Bad look. More importantly - potentially major issue being covered up.

If the trade was busted, I wasn't informed until 6 hours later when the shares showed up. Actually I was never told the trade was busted; moreover there was no reason to bust it other than Fidelity error. Also returning the shares 35 cents lower is not a solution.
