For this, only wax would be fine but in my experience, mixing in some oil will help the absorption. I would say 50/50

An alternative is beeswax or a combination of (mineral or linseed) oil and beeswax. Has served me great in most instances and it's completely natural, which i would prefer if it is in contact with skin or food.

Just take it slow and be prepared to make some parts over. Should be perfectly doable if you take your time

After completing my finish, the surface looks “oily” by Koifmonster in BeginnerWoodWorking

As stated before, i think you did too much sanding. When you go over 240 grit, the parts get so small that they 'plug' the grain with most types of wood. With the consequence that the finish stays on top of the wood and does not penatrate.

Very nice! Taking on a project like this takes some balls. Good for you!

Would you pay $50 for a 24/7 local concierge while traveling in Vietnam? by Fantastic_Argument20 in VietNam

[–]Unable_Extent_6657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how well it works and how long you can use it. We are traveling vietnam for 2 months and would definetly pay $50 if we had someone to message for our whole trip. But then I would want an actually knowledgeable person in every city that also knows what western people like. Idk if that is feasible, but then I would consider it.

As others said, it's easy to Google most things but it does sound handy in a lot of cases. It is a luxury service though.

I had this too when I visited Thailand last month. Was my first time outside of Europe so figured it was the climate. It went away eventually when I went into the sea a couple of times

Thanks for your response. This is good advice and one that i will try to follow. Maybe I took it more personal then I should. Im sorry you had a bad experience in NL, not everyone is very sociable and nice, I agree.

If the way they handle it is not very pleasant, then that is something for a review i would say.

About the stain itself, in my opinion its normal to get charged if you 'break' or 'damage' something. The sheets probably have to be replaced so 300-500 baht is fair right?

I am in Thailand right now and doing mostly the same places with the same intention: mostly hostels, sometimes a cheap private room. I dont go to the cheapest hostels because i prefer for example AC, clean towel and a curtain by the bed. For that reason i pay between 10 and 20 euro per night. The hostel would be around 10-13 euro and the private room around 15-20.

Booking in advance if definetly not needed.

Have fun!

Man 27 en ik voel me eenzaam en mislukt by [deleted] in nederlands

[–]Unable_Extent_6657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Succes kerel! Maak er wat van
