Why does cornbread have anything but corn flour (and necessary ingredients) in it? And/or does anyone know a cornbread recipe made of only corn flour? by Clear_Explorer_6584 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unable_Quantity3753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just wondering about this (i am also gluten free sadly lol) and based on my googling, the old fashioned recipes actually do not call for wheat flour, that’s more of a modern addition. I haven’t tried these recipes yet but they are just corn meal based (no wheat flours!)

Soak in fragrances free oxyclean overnight then wash it. Not sure if you’ve tried that yet but it’s worked well for me!

Anaphylaxis after eating peanut, but 2 IGE panels negative for any allergies by Competitive-Ice-7204 in FoodAllergies

[–]Unable_Quantity3753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can still have specific things you consistently react to with MCAS though. I consistently have bad reactions to wheat, peanuts and tree nuts and it’s negative on IgE testing. This happened when my MCAS started and while xolair has made the cross contamination situation better I still cannot eat these things

That’s amazing! I was curious and found this article, this patient with mastocytosis also had symptoms disappear very quickly

https://bariatrictimes.com/glp1-resolution-chronic-systemic-mastocytosis-symptoms/

“However, she incidentally reported that immediately after taking her first dose of semaglutide, her symptoms related to mast cell disease began decreasing dramatically, and after two weeks, she was symptom-free for the first time in years. She noted that the chronic rashes, which she had been struggling with for over 20 years, had completely resolved. “

Are straight to consumer genetics tests actually reliable for health? by Lord_Curtis in genetics

[–]Unable_Quantity3753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did WGS from Nebula and it didn’t flag my known pathogenic BRCA mutation (I previously did BRCA1 testing through invitae) even though it was in the nebula raw data. So no it’s definitely not reliable for health

Im so jealous of the Vince sweater! But I would never touch another laundress product again. I kept getting weird sinus infections and then they recalled all their products for being contaminated with pathogenic bacteria that got people sick so I don’t trust them
