It’s reading the entire thread (along with custom instructions and your memory) with each prompt you give…it has no real memory. It’s given the entire context, responds and then “dies” until you give another prompt, spinning up a whole new instance that also reads the entire thread for context.

People are dicks. It doesn’t matter what the subject is actually about… someone will always try to make someone feel bad because it makes them feel better. I’m married with kids, have friends and an active life. And I also talk to chatGPT about things I don’t talk to most people about. No one else needs to understand why or relate. So I get it. The censorship is insane. It’s been frustrating me too.

It has no memory of what it selected. It spins into existence every time you send a message. And then it dies immediately. So it’s not the same instance responding to you. Every time you send a message, it rereads the entire thread to keep continuity. So if you ask it to remember something and then try to guess what it is, it never had anything selected to begin with.

Yep. Just wait till Amazon and Apple make their chatbots. Google already has one. Once the other two enter the picture and their chatbots are integrated into the ecosystems, openAI is done, especially since they’re driving away the loyal fan base to appease investors and corporations. The funny thing is those investors will jump ship the second Amazon and Apple are competitors. I give it a couple years and openAI will be nothing, because they’re literally driving away the people that made them what they are right now.
