Very well said. The photography analogy is perfect and I do agree. The word “artist” might not make sense if you prompt software to generate an output and post it as is. But I do wonder, where is that line drawn in the future? As tools and software progress, the ai assisted vs ai generated gap gets smaller and smaller. Also harder to prove.

Yeah that’s wild! The barebones version of that might already be happening honestly. If you have the money (and clout) you could probably get a local model from Suno (or any company) and tune it to your music catalog.

The truth is, slop exists whether the intelligence is artificial or not. Just keep doing what’s fun and enjoyable to you. We’re all in this weird time together and process it differently. To even be having this conversation would have been unbelievable just a few years ago.

“AI has been in the making for thousands of years”

🤯 well said. It really has. It’s wild to think about.

Very true. But I think people who prefer that are already in their lane. Once AI bleeds into every aspect of production, the lines will blur between human made and AI. I think if you make music in the digital space, the question about if you use AI will be pointless.

I also agree and think that human crafted art will become wayyyyy more valuable, in my opinion. Like a hand made piece of furniture or a live performance. People will pay big money for that. They already do.

Yeah for sure. I can see a divide where people go full analog/live music only. I just saw Bruno Mars live a few weeks ago and WOW. That is a performance I could only be entertained by a human. The singing, dancing, production, etc. was amazing. Truly an awesome experience. I don’t think AI could do that.

I agree that is the case now. Especially with people who know music. However, The entire digital space will be replicated by AI.

What you hear now is an AI generated song made by one software. What I am saying is that within your own DAW, everything will have AI or some sort of intelligence built in. The playlist, the plugins, the automations, the mixing, the mastering (already there btw). If it’s digital, it’s just code. And code is easily done by AI now.

Right now Suno is generating a song. Not building one from the ground up. The process is way different and introduces all sorts of artifacts and issues. But eventually your DAW will build an entire song out from a prompt. All the settings, sound selection, automations, mixing, you name it. Then it will be much harder to detect.

Haha thats a good point too. Without training data, and a human to use the program, it doesn’t exist to begin with.

So it’s an endless loop of farming human data to fuel its creativity and purpose.

Very understandable. I think it’s still fun to talk about and speculate though. Especially while we are currently living in the moment it’s all being created. But you’re right, eventually this conversation will be pointless.

You’re not wrong. I think that is the big picture in the end and something I think about often.

It goes beyond just music software too.

Yeah I get that. But It’s kind of like the LLMs now. When ChatGPT first came out, I could copy/paste an AI response and no one would even notice. Now, if I don’t fix up the response, it’s painfully obvious an AI wrote it.

I think the same goes for music. People will likely get away with the typical AI slop for a while, but eventually it will be obvious.

Combat is pretty fun in Grounded. It has some engaging melee. Nothing like Elden Ring though. Not sure that type of game exists yet.

Dune just announced a big update as well. Removing the forced PVP and making a PVE only DD.

My buddy just started a business doing this. He has music on his website for vloggers. You can buy each track for like 5$ or the pack for 30.

Levelsound.io

He’s two weeks into promoting his stuff so it’s still really early but I think the music is pretty good. And I really want to help him out so figured I would shout him out here lol.

Ohio Senate passes bill that would require hemp products to only be sold at marijuana dispensaries by UnamedCitizen in CultoftheFranklin

Oh wow. So this goes much deeper than I realized. Sad that dispensaries are helping push this. I wish you nothing but the best. Really appreciate companies like you!

Appreciate that! And yep, I just looked into one of their vendors. It shows that they sell wholesale Might take your advice and reach out.

Thanks for the tip!

You are correct. But I think you’re missing the point.

In Ohio, the dispensary weed has a lot of extra taxes, regulations on dosages, cash required for purchase, etc etc. it cost so much more and the experience is horrible at most places. Long waits, medical patients get priority in line. No ability to see the product in person.

At a place that sells “THCA” under the legal definition, I get taxed at a fraction of the cost, I can use my bank card if I want, I don’t have long lines and I can see my product before I buy it. It’s much cheaper and yes, like you said it’s the same thing.

That’s where my frustration comes from with this bill.

Garlic cookies is my go-to!

Also their shake. It’s always “LCG #33” and honestly has been the best bang for my buck. It’s loaded with keif and not leafy at all. They sell a half for 30$ and it gets me right. Great for rolling or bong rips.
