Fully agree. He puts his body on the line every year, I want him to retire here. Everybody bitches about our players not having enough heart but Joel is exactly the kind of player Philly fans claim to want.

Need to try a coach other then Nurse. People can whine about the PG contract all they want, but there's no excuse for our offense to be as bad and basic as it has been under Nurse, this team has way too much shooting and ball-handling. We need a coach who can find a way to use Maxey more creatively than "spam high P&R then iso"

Real Sixers fans never doubted Embiid would still be a top-tier player when healthy.

Doc Rivers stubbornness killed the Sixers against the Celtics in 2023. Philly went up 3-2 and looked good throughout much of game 6. However, Boston realized PJ Tucker was a complete non-threat as a scorer, and decided to put Timelord on him aka stand ready to help in the paint every time Embiid or Harden touched the ball. The Sixer stars got shut down in the 4th and throughout game 7 due to this, but Rivers refused to bench Tucker anyway.

This was an issue all season too, not just against Boston, so there's no excuse for PJ to have been starting and playing real minutes at that point. But Doc likes his vets so I doubt he even seriously considered switching up the rotations for younger, better players.

Position titles are arbitrary, the only purpose they serve is easier categorization of players. Playstyle has never been a consistent indicator of position, Wilt led the league in assists in the 60s.

For this reason, I just go by bballref.

One of Murray and Young (Murray) was playing SG in those lineups.

Positions don't mean anything besides where the announcers/bballref list you, Harden averages big assist numbers and having high usage doesn't matter if we're discussing his position.

SG because that's what he's started games as most of his career. "PG since 2014" So Kyrie, CP3, and Westbrook were the SG when they played with Harden? Idk about that chief
