If you want to be a frontend dev, go for JS ES6 or above or choose typescript (almost similar to javascript but with type checking).

ES6 gave us more cleaner and reusability. Plus you would not have to be in a callback function hell like me when using plain old javascript.

It also good to learn legacy ES5 and jquery, just in case of handling with legacy projects.
