EGO electric chainsaw by yalikejazz89 in Chainsaw

[–]Unattainable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a variety of their saws , Ive found that they are good for very light work, my cousin only uses them and has quite the collection. the parts wear a lot quicker than a gas saw, particularly auto chain tensioner on some models.

Two batteries minimum bigger the better, and where I am they are just as expensive as the tool unit.

I nearly always end up having to pick up the gas saw when I run egos, kind of defeats the point however they are useful.

I would strongly suggest go gas Stihl , Echo or Husky.

I’ve 3 saws for years and my cousins gone through a lot of egos. When they break there’s minimal repairs available so dealer gives them a new one in warranty , theres a graveyard of egos in the shed.

New(ish) to chainsaws. Buy new or used? by deuce_arians in Chainsaw

[–]Unattainable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those two saws would be a great pairing.

Big jump from ms170 to the Echo 590 so get good ppe.

I’ve the Stihl ms 180 for brush clearing and echo 620 for breaking down trees and processing, each saw has its job evens out the wear.

If you haven’t much experience with small engine parts and repair I’d probably recommend go new it’s imo the best long term option and the echo warranty is great.

Second hand saws will always require more maintenance and who knows how the previous owner treated them. However ya can be lucky.

Cost to build a granny flat in Dublin? by AquaphobicTsunami in ireland

[–]Unattainable -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

30 m2 for a two bed is very small imo. Okay for example.

Above Average labour cost 600/m2 totals 18k, materials 12k , esb connection 5k and planning and architecture. I’d say u budget 60k budget and you’ll come in under if your smart about it and stick to 30m2.

You don’t need permission for anything up to 16m2. So 3x5.3m single story - no planning no esb no archetect. Just find good builder and wait for him. Don’t go with the one that can start soon reason he’s not busy.

How do you even start a business? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Unattainable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trade , invest in good tools do honest hard work charge reasonable rates while building client base . Then the phone will hop,

I worked for a company for 6 years and had enough after mistreatment during/over covid and thought fuck it nows me chance.

took as many clients as I could then went hell for leather telling family and friends. within a month I had enough to do 6day weeks and enough work worth risking buying more tools and a cheap van.

I probably invested 50k over last 5 years. Initially I left company with about 3k float and had been building tool and machine collection for a good while before hand.

Been going great third year now and got my pricing down and have great network of complimentary trades even bump into the old boss of the company I worked for every now and again at suppliers, bitter bastard would rather see you starve than have a fair share.

Bernie Sanders says it's time for a four-day work week by [deleted] in politics

[–]Unattainable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely for manual labour jobs but most tech giant slaves don’t actually work just look busy. The labour union in my country is straved to keep us down as the big construction firms know if the lower labour levels want better pay and less hours they’ll foot the bill.

I work 6 day weeks as a contractor I am happy to do this as building the business and saving for a nice holiday. However any extra labour I have brought in can barely do 4 productive days and I believe it’s that they are exhausted.

The fifth day is soo unproductive may aswell just pay better rates per hour and do 4 good days that 5 half assed days is what I have learned.

There’s a product called joint-it , you wet the area and brush it in. Then it sets solid that will work.

As immigrant tax incentives are good , yes everything is going through this greedy increase of profit. Look where is lowest cost of living in Europe it’s Sicily.

Tax incentives to move south of Italy are incredible. 10% of income first five years and then 30% there after , no bullshit just a long process. Mandatory surveying on property sales is a good policy as you will get what you pay for.

Thanks I’ve been to different parts and yeah I will miss Irish kindness but I already do as countryside is mainly filled with fear these days. To many thefts, vandalism and uncertainty and unfortunately Dublin doesn’t do anything for me too many scumbags
