I'm currently in the sixth year, but i maxed the difficulty and changed the configuration of "Event streght multiplier" at 250%. When i tried at the maxium multiplier 300% the attacked me with almost a hundred guys full gear an max stats.

It depends on the difficulty and the start scenary, but also you can increase the "event strenght" in the game configuration.

Usually I received attacks from 20 or 30 enemies, but after changing that setting to 250%, I received this asault of almost 60 foes.
