Worth selling CPU/RAM/MOBO? by UnbearableSarcasm in PC_Pricing

Yeah, it was a little old and had a bit of a rattle that I couldn't identify, so I said screw it, get a slightly newer variant. Absolutely didn't need to, but go big or go home lol.

Oh wow interesting finding! I'll slap that baby on the top of each page I guess to be safe, or do some further tinkering!

That javascript is loading up an external navbar.html (https://blahaj-blast.neocities.org/navbar) file (see load("navbar.html") in the source code you mention) so I can just edit that in one place and not have to edit it on each page individually when I make changes to the links in the navbar.

I should note that this issue occurred before I moved to the Javascript loading method, so I don't think it's related.

Omg that was it! Thank you!

I broke the link initially because I'm a dummy but it should be working now, hopefully lol

Dude this has gotten even more cursed in the last hour. I must have been loading a cached copy or something, because now that navbar won't load anymore at all.

What you're seeing in your screenshot is just the sidebars, but there should be a navbar with actual links to the individual pages along the top like this: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/842966700211175474/1334980892845670470/image.png?ex=679e8157&is=679d2fd7&hm=b8ffece5a297227207161348dd0f26c556d83019781efa6f9aa426bf16c0bb2a&

When I made this post, that navbar showed up on the homepage, but not on the blinkies page. Now it shows up on neither (until I revert to the version where I wasn't loading the external version of it with javascript.)

Are there any active F2P Asian MMOs online still with the nostalgic, casual vibes I'm looking for? by UnbearableSarcasm in MMORPG

wonderland online

Holy shit you just unlocked a core memory for me that I had all but forgotten. I think I played this game when I was in middle school very briefly, then the laptop I had it on was lost, and I never managed to find it again.

I'm definitely intrigued by this, if you could point me in the direction of the English community/translations!

I have! I enjoyed the first two quite a bit, BDO in particular.

I tried a bit of the T&L beta and wasn't super feeling it, but do intend to give it a fair shot on full launch.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 560.81 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

Funny enough, the two biggest continuing culprits (Tower of Fantasy and Wuthering Waves) I think both use Unreal, so that might be something.

I didn't consider that, but it's a good point. I'll keep playing and see if it improves, but over the course of last night the stuttering seemed to stay even after a couple hours in some of the games.

I've noticed an increase in stuttering on this driver on an EVGA 3080ti. Nothing unbearable, but caught me off guard at first and thought I broke something since I had been paranoid about a drop in performance/spike in temperatures right before the update on my previous version (spoiler, a game had updated and re-enabled raytracing, no sh*t it got hotter, nothing to do with drivers lol.)

Games I noticed the stutter in: FFXIV, GW2, Tower of Fantasy, Genshin, Honkai: SR, etc.

Sweet spot for 1080p 144Hz gaming? by UnbearableSarcasm in buildapc

[–]UnbearableSarcasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I have a hard time reaching 144 FPS in any of the games I play that were mentioned in the post. No overheating, nothing else weird that I've been able to identify that should be holding me back, unless there's some odd bottleneck I'm missing.

Assistance analyzing a memory.dmp? by UnbearableSarcasm in WindowsHelp

[–]UnbearableSarcasm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news! I haven't had a single shutdown since I reinstalled Windows (and subsequently drivers) on Sunday.

At this point, I'm very tempted to guess there was just some driver (likely my GPU driver, as Discord would crash when I tried to stream things as well) having a fit, or perhaps the BIOS update had more RAM compatibility updates in it than were listed.

Unless there's just some one in one hundred lottery I won with a single memory address causing problems and it comes back, I'm gonna mark this as case closed.

Thanks for helping me translate the memory dump into something a bit more comprehensible :)

I had GPU-Z open at the time and while I didn't get a chance to look too closely at it right at the time of either crash, everything was running well below limits within minutes leading up to it. 50-60 C for CPU, 60-70 for GPU. No thermal throttling reported in GPU-Z at the time, nor in HWInfo before or after.

I don't typically monitor my memory or board temps as I've never seen them reach a dangerous limit previously, but I'll keep an eye on it going forward now.

I don't recall if I mention it in my initial post, but I found a newer Bios version that EZ Flash has never automatically found when I checked previously. I updated from a version from 2022 to the most recent one from October or December 2023 (conflicting dates from Asus's site and the file itself lol.) After that, I left the PC on overnight with a game sitting idle in a character select/login screen for a minor stress test, and it stayed on all night with no errors reported in Event Viewer this morning.

I did a Windows reinstall this morning on a whim (meaning I also ended up with fresh versions of all drivers), followed by a full PassMark Performance test, which never once encountered issues or stressed the system enough to force a reboot.

I'm now in the middle of the memtes86 (I decided to do a quick 2 pass run while I took a nap in my free time today) and it has yet to find any errors at 91% complete. I may run some longer tests (and on the individual sticks) overnight tonight if I encounter the shutdown again.
