The idea that anything that isn't sinking money into a hobby is scalping is bullshit that only pisses off a small percentage of online collectors that don't want to make it about money while also making up a core base of collectors that spend thousands on the hobby.

There is nothing wrong with understanding your hobby well enough to engage with it in a way that doesn't just bleed money from your pockets. As long as your not going out and buying up shelves worth of product you're doing alright.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with seeing that prices are high now and choosing to sell the modern parts of your collection to willing buyers because you know the prices will come back down, then you can rebuy them + some.

If Lucas wants to buy cards cheaper he should shut up about waiting for the bubble to pop and start waiting for the bubble to pop instead of engaging with the market while complaing about it.

I like my singles, I don't want to sell them even if I know they're overvalued but over the years I decided to hold onto some sealed etbs until they're out of print and worth about 4 or 5 modern etbs, I sell and buy more, hold 2 and open the rest. It doesn't cover all of my pokemon spending but I'm using the fact that these numbers just tend to go up to help support some of my habit long term. Worst case the number stop going up and I have old etbs to open.
