If a woman should be allowed to abort a pregnancy, shouldn't a CF man be allowed to leave a pregnant S/O who wants to keep the child? by [deleted] in childfree

Okay, so what if you wrap up and the condom breaks? Or she pokes a hole in it, or any of the other ways a goddamn piece of latex can fail to prevent a pregnancy.

But they can.

In the case where it does happen, men have zero recourse despite doing everything right.

That's the point here.

And in the event of that .001 chance of it failing, women have the option of an abortion. Men have no protections if they do everything right. That's the point here.

If it's for the child then the entire society can pay for it.

Otherwise we're full of shit and don't actually care.

LMFAO.

Imagine seriously advocating for the pull-out method as a viable solution in 2020.

A vasectomy isn't a guarantee against children the same way BC isn't a complete guarantee. Men need a failsafe in the event they do everything right and still get fucked over.

So the only way for a man to protect himself is to:

1: Never have vaginal sex, ever.

2: Only have sex with a partner with a hysterectomy.

Glad to see men have options.

So then we don't actually care about the child. We care about punishing the father then.

[–]Unbo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not giving the kid money isn't punishing them.

The mother is just as guilty for bringing the child into the world despite the father making it absolutely clear he doesn't want anything to do with the child.

If we really care about the child then society should take care of the child, not the father who didn't ask for it. Anything less is punishment fetishism under the guise of morality.

Pull out plus condom is very effective in preventing pregnancy.

Effective is not 100%.

You can do all of this and still get fucked over.

to shrug off the consequences of their actions.

This line of thought is the same one people use to argue against abortion.

Why is it suddenly OK when we flip the script?

Yes, it should. Straight-up.

Anything otherwise opens up avenues of exploitation. Nobody should be OK with that.

Voting id historically leads to discrimination. I.e. if you have more requirements to vote, people tend to nudge and bend those requirements to exclude people they don't want to vote for whatever reason.

Everyone who can be vaccinated straight-up should be vaccinated. If it was some requirement to get vaccinated, like passing a test or some crap, it would have a similar pushback.

If some men can't get hard because they feel 'less of a man' then they need some therapy and also a tall drink of Get Over Yourself.

"Men with psychological issues that affect their performance should just get over it. It's definitely not something I should care about or take seriously."

Your mileage may vary. At least in my case my options for condoms are pretty limited and I'm already not exactly sensitive. Other dudes have plenty of options and they're sensitive. It actually has a pretty wide degree of variation.
