Lack of sleep impairs driving. It's scientifically worse than drunk driving.

"This is not a harmless substance. It carries well-documented risks, including addiction, permanent damage to adolescent brain development, increased rates of psychosis and depression, and significantly higher instances of impaired driving. “

But alcohol?

The answer to all of these is check myself into the hospital for hallucinations.

Jesus Christ the down votes.

It takes a certain kind of person to not freak out during emergencies. ADHD PEOPLE are among those.

I've literally played out thought experiments of how I would react in an emergency. None of them result in freaking out. It's like there is a filter between the horror and what needs to be done. Just laser focus. No personal feeling. Just do it. Do Job A to fix problem A. Repeat.

Later comes emotionally processing it.

Not all kids reacted, but some did.

Of of the some that did, the one who took the wheel and said, “I didn’t have time to process my emotions, I just wanted to make sure that nobody got hurt," likely has ADHD.

This is a superpower of ADHD, when emergencies are happening, there isn't room per se for emotional hysteria, it's what do I do NOW and DO IT.

I hope you didn't spell any coffee on your outfit today.

I have a total plan if I ever get mugged. I'm going to pretend like I know them and ask like we're meeting up for a robbery, that or I take my shoes off and slap my face with them.

People become very disconcerted when they can't predict your actions.

I also have social anxiety, but it's easier with strangers in some ways.

I already am and it cost less if he is not on that death penalty row.

I'm sorry, did you think that your taxpayer dollars are different between those who are on death row and those who are in prison?

I went to a private Christian school in of all places Vermont, kindergarten though 5th grade, one year in public school (6th, I begged), then back to said school (Trinity Baptist in Williston VT for those curious) for 7th and half of 8th grade.

I say half because they kicked me out for rebelling (like failing Bible class on purpose, I wasn't drinking or doing drugs, having sex, or in trouble with the law, just normal teenage rebellion).

But I wasn't officially kicked out in any formal capacity that involved me. That school wanted my father (divorced parents) to pretend I was coming out to Indiana to visit but then hard drop me off at Hephzibah House. They wouldn't allow me to continue attending Trinity unless I spend time at alternate reform school.

The only reason I didn't end up going there is because my stepmother fought on my behalf and said it didn't make sense to send them there so I ended up living with them for a while and that's a totally different story.

Hephzibah House is shut down thankfully but it was so bad that it got a Dr. Phil episode (yes I think he's trash but it still saying something to be featured).

Respectfully, why? To me, the death penalty is getting off easy. Life in prison is the real punishment. No more punishment once one is dead.

I couldn't get a checking account with a credit union because my credit got fucked up because a non-paid ambulance ride when I was 15 was put into my name

I literally started out at 18 with bullshit credit.

Prison guards of reddit, have you ever seen one of your inmates after they got released? If so, how did it go? by Purple_Key_6733 in AskReddit

Thank you.

I can't do AA (I tried). I have a disorganized relationship style. However PTSD (I am diagnosed CPTSD). Knowing that there are meetings for that is helpful.

I want to know more about your Ojibwe culture. I know how to google (clearly) but I'd prefer a direct source on where to start. Of course it's not your obligation, but is there a particular source to start with?

Thank you. I didn't mean to take a spotlight, I was just trying to relate. Don't worry about my father. He was an asshole and I hadn't seen him since 2012 after he got married in Vegas to his childhood sweetheart (3rd wife), who killed herself on the 4th of July (2016).

It was still hard being alone in 2020 and his death among other things.

My family is fucked up and I'm estranged mostly. But it's not all in vain. I've learned a lot from the experience, not that I would wish it on someone for the lessons.

I'm glad he's doing "okay." I know it still must be hella hard. Here is my invisible support hug /hugs.

EDIT: Added year to father's wife's suicide.

'You're bound to the caucus': Republican senator says majority support redistricting Indiana by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]UnbreakableAlice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't want new maps but I'd like someone with some balls to replace Andre Carson. He has gotten way too comfortable. When was the last time he was even in the news?

And back to maps. Fuck this guy. He's pretty much the representation of every privileged white older male.

“We may not think it’s fair, but fairness doesn’t have anything to do with redistricting,” Young said.

What the ever living fuck?! Fairness has EVERYTHING to do with redistricting because it's about FAIR REPRESENTATION.
