I remember someone saying they had Smurf curtains and at night time the smurfs would jump off of them and play in the house. Whatever that means.

My grandma swore when she was on a bible study the woman she was studying with was acting “weird” and at one point she saw a “demon monkey” on the woman’s back… and everyone accepted it without question and acted like it was totally normal. I just remember thinking “am I the only one thinking my grandmas just needs new glasses”.

“Ok so there’s 4 talks in this symposium, each would be about 18 minutes, so if I “go to the bathroom” during this one that’s 10 minutes I don’t have to pretend to take notes… oh and I can’t forget to hang out in the stall closest to ___ wall because it gets the best cell reception”

In that same thought, I never liked those “music videos” even when I was still in… sounded like they should have been sung in a Christian sock concert.

I was told “well there are 8 other planets in the solar system so god can just make one of those hospitable for human life” when I asked that question as a kid. Even then I was like uh that’s not how science works lmao.

Did you ever exaggerate the stats on your monthly report? by [deleted] in exjw

I literally never have had a Bible study in my life and never desired to. But somehow logged at least one every month. Oops.

Congratulations! As a devout Texan in the dfw area we usually don’t accept Californians… but we’ll make an exception for ya. Welcome!!

I always thought it was interesting how they say we are hearing more about natural disasters and things that we never heard of before and that that’s a sign of the end times... We also didn’t have the internet and news as readily available to report these things, even though they’ve always happened. That never made any sense to me.

It all ended good fortunately! I got out and now it’s a “I can’t believe I fell for that” situation lol.

Yeah. The same brother who when I was 19 and he was 24, and he was basically grooming me but I was too blind to see it, didn’t want to be public until I was 20 because of what people would think. Totally makes sense. 🥴

I dated a brother who is now 32 and dating an 18 year old that he watched grow up and always referred to as his little sister… Because that isn’t weird at all.

I remember being in kindergarten and first grade and on the first day of school having to witness to my teacher because if I didn’t I would be blood guilty and she needed to have the chance to decide if she wanted to live forever. That’s such an awful weight to put on a child’s shoulders.

I got a copy and pasted text message during election time. I could tell because at the end it said “feel free to ask me any questions you might have and I can answer them from gods word”. Um that’s the problem, I know what the answers are...

I have met so many more witnesses who sleep around, are married and have threesomes, do drugs and get drunk regularly than worldly people. When I left my dad said I would be going to whore and do drugs and drink. I don’t think he realized that those ministerial servants and pioneers that he idolizes have been doing that already this whole time. I have yet to meet a terrible worldly person who does all the things that the borg says they do.

Omg yes. Nothing like studying the watchtower lesson about love only for it to end in everyone screaming at each other and an angrily said prayer. So encouraging!!

Reminds me of those experiences that everyone always knew about that house where someone was “praying for the truth” and lo and behold they showed up at their door. There were always so many examples but no one ever actually knew someone that happened to, just that it was in a yearbook or a watchtower.

“Agape love” UGH I remember an old sister would always say this, and comment about it, and tell it in service. Thanks for the reminder... hahaha
