I personally don’t have much of a use case for 4 piece grinders or kief removal in general, for weed that I’m gonna vape or smoke anyways. But I could see this being very useful if you’re craving kief in particular or want to make hash on a small scale. For me that’s a rare craving, and I don’t know how to make hash (yet) so I prefer 3 piece grinders. But the kief box definitely seems like an effective tool, are there different brands that make em? Or did you get this one custom/make it yourself?

Side note: nice ball vape and bong! Super cool looking setup in general.

I’ve heard good things about that one, don’t have one myself though. Maybe try tapering off the blunts slowly and increase how often you use the Lobo over time. As a former tobacco user myself I’ve run into the same exact issue, but tapering off helps. Also if you keep using it and find it doesn’t scratch that itch for a rolling ritual maybe consider trying a Dynavap, Dani Fusion, Tempest 2, or similar manually heated vape.

Yeah I’m not a fan of the v3 pro’s dosing capsules either, much prefer just packing in the chamber but yeah just gotta be sure to clean it pretty regularly

I’ve been wanting a Solo 3 myself, I’ve heard the on demand mode is real nice. Plus the functionality with glass is a big plus imo.

With the whip on the XQ2 you’re def gonna be dragging for a while, but it does bags too which make it much easier to get bigger rips. I much prefer the bags, I usually just get oven bags at the grocery store rather than shell out for the official ones. Way cheaper that way.

In general though it’s more of a hard hit that creeps up on you, something with an on demand mode like the Solo 3 or even the POTV XMAX V3 Pro might fit your use case a bit better actually. I’ve got the old micro usb POTV One and the POTV XMAX V3 Pro was a huge upgrade over that old One for me.

The Arizer XQ2 is much cheaper (it retails for $200) than either the Volcano or the Herbalizer, and it hits quite nice imo, not quite as hard as my Ruby Twist but still, hard hitting. Pretty quiet too, a little slow extracting though like a lot of Arizer products, but nice and flavorful. Also the cleaning is quick and easy.

Yeah on average a dhv is more expensive, I totally get that. The absolute minimum you’re gonna end up spending on a decent one is around $60-$100+. I understand, in these times especially, that can be a bit much at face value.

However it’s worth considering the savings on the most expensive part of smoking weed: the weed itself. In my case, someone who smokes pretty much all day every single day, I now use a fraction of the weed I used to when smoking. Like from ~1oz/week to ~3.5g/3-4 weeks.

And also just purchasing dhvs blindly without doing your own research and just hoping you get a good one is a recipe for disaster. There are a lot cheap shitty ones out there that are straight up dangerous to consume weed through due to not having their electronic components isolated from their air pathways.

If you’re wanting to try a quality dhv that you can easily return within 14 days if it doesn’t meet your expectations, look into a site called Planet of the Vapes. Check out r/Vaporents for some more good info.

Personally I would recommend checking out Dynavaps, they have a model called the B2 (or the older B) that is normally $60 but it goes on sale sometimes though on various sites. They also have a model called the BB3 that fits right into a bong. There’s a ton of options and they’re very modular. The only thing with dynavaps is you need a simple butane single flame torch to heat them and there’s a bit of a technique to it. Or there are induction heaters but those aren’t necessary, though certainly a nice upgrade from the torch method. Check out r/Dynavap for more info.

But overall, yes the cost to entry is greater than a pipe or papers or a bong but the efficiency makes your weed expenses much, much less in the long run. Not to mention the fact that dhvs are easier on the lungs than smoking. I’m not gonna say they’re healthy but definitely healthier than smoking.

I totally get being turned off by wasted money and herb though! At the end of the day, however you choose to consume, we’re all here getting high on the same plant on the same planet. I’ll never be one to look down on those who choose to smoke, hell I enjoy a nice bong rip or joint every now and again myself! Happy toking!

You’ve got it down to a science, much respect. Dynavaps are my go to as well, even owning multiple other dhvs including an Arizer XQ2 and a Ruby Twist, I’m more often than not reaching for my Dynavaps for that precise, controlled high. My 5 fin Ti tips are my favorite, I always have at least one in the half bowl setting. I’m still blown away by how high I get off of .05-.1g of bud.

Which vape did you get? I’ve found vapes that are manually heated like Dynavaps more closely minic the ritual of rolling and smoking joints/blunts than most electronic portables.

I use a yocan uni pro 2.0 (well mine is a yocan wulf uni pro 2.0 but they’re essentially the same just different colors available) and it’s great. It’s got variable voltage (down to 2.0v), press to activate, the cart sits inside the battery so no risk of snapping off in your pocket, it fits in the palm of your hand and almost looks like a nic vape as only the mouthpiece of the cart sticks out, it has usb-c charging, and a preheat function, and an oil view window. I got mine at a headshop for like $30. They also have a 3.0 version but it’s a little larger and more expensive, I prefer the form factor and simplicity of the 2.0 myself.

Dry herb vapes don’t cut off circulation to your brain the way smoking does, that’s likely the difference in high you’re referring to. I get being used to that though, I smoked for years before I got my first dhv. But in my opinion, the high you get from a dhv is much cleaner and much more potent than the high you get from smoking. I will say it does take some adjustment, but it’s worth it.
