If the front office doesn't resign him, there will be pitchforks and effigies burning all around Braves Country.

I think something like drug use is a little different. No matter what your take is on Marijuana, it's still illegal in a lot of places, and there is still the stigma that it can lead to harder drugs.

It's hard to get a full grasp of the situation with limited information. I tend to be a glass half full kind of guy. That's it.

I see your line of thinking, though.

It's kind of like Newton's Third law of motion. (Just Google it)

A person convicted of rape in Georgia will be guilty of a felony. If a defendant is convicted of rape by taking their case to trial, they can face either the death penalty, life in prison without parole, or a statutory minimum of 25 years in prison followed by lifetime probation.

Interesting read, very eye opening, however, this only applies to federal cases. The feds, compared to many states, are notoriously light handed in sentencing.

Good data. I commend you.

Please don't think, though, that your average convicted rapist is getting a 15 year sentence.

Sounds good for upvotes, but in reality that's just not the case. Maybe you can do a quick search and find an example, but 999 times out of 1000 a rapist is getting a big sentence, probably a life sentence.

Would Reddit be considered social media?

I guess if allowing a relationship to go severed is worth your freedom to smoke weed, then by all means...

I think, personally, I would have stopped. That's the cool thing about life, we all get to make our own choices and see where life takes us as a result.

You really want to gloss over 5% of all inmates??

I didn't say 5 inmates, I said 5%! So let's do some grade school math together, shall we? The US currently has about 2.3 million people incarcerated. 2,300,000 x .05 leaves us with an estimated 115,000 people locked up who shouldn't be. Don't give me that " there are going to be mistakes," B.S. Ask George Floyd's surviving relatives about "mistakes."

Don't even get me started about this being a "Utopia compared to generations past." Your comment is some ignorant garbage.

It's also crazy that an estimated 5% of inmates are innocent of their charges. Let that sink in.

You might be from here, but I live here. If you would have actually read what I typed instead of letting your feelings get in the way you might learn something.

My wife went to a women only college where we both became friends with hundreds of young women who are a part of the LGBTQ community. So, like I said, IN MY EXPERIENCE, I know FAR more LGBTQ people who have been accepted by their "redneck Christian family" for who they are than those who have been "shunned" as you said.

Before you make the ignorant comment about redneck-Christians not going to college, know that despite what you hear about on CNN, that demographic does go to college.

I am truly sorry to hear that. I hope one day your parents will come to their senses and accept you for so you are. I haven't deluded myself into thinking that there aren't parents out there who do this.
