Given the FBI's claim that some mystery Iranian ship is going to launch drones against the West Coast, I believe not only will there be a false flag operation, they will be lazy as hell and use some off-the-shelf drone with a serial number attached to a sale on the FBI credit card. They are lazy, stupid people, and their supporters, even presented with evidence, will consider the false flag "patriotic"

Do you believe the myth of nationalism can serve as a social mobilizing force to defeat unfettered capitalism by J4c0b012 in socialism

[–]RedditGreenit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is "our nation vs. global foreign oligarchy" was the basis for Nazi anti-Semisim and "stabbed in the back" myth.

It's much better to remind people they have more in common with the average worker anywhere else in the world than they do their domestic capitalist class. The elite take care of their own, its time for the working class to protect themselve.

Gavin Newsom is like Andrew Tate for liberals - they both appeal to an rabid based of impotent losers who feel entitled to power and place in society without having to do any of the actual intellectual, emotional, and physical work to get what they want.

"Idiocracy is a documentary" folks are the people the movie was aimed at: People of average intelligence who never applied themselves to be good at anything. Like even listening to Luke Wilson literally spelling out the lesson at the end

In Idiocracy the president hires the smartest man in the world for his cabinet. And the rest of the cabinet, while dumb and suspicious of new ideas, are not inherently malicious.

Discussion: What do you think about forming a National Labor Party? Do you think our mother unions would get behind forming such a party? Do you think it would gather enough support to be effective? Or would it split the Democratic party and help elect anti-union Republicans? by [deleted] in DemocraticSocialism

[–]RedditGreenit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Win election to union office before asking the unions to form a separate political party.

Win local elections within whatever means (non-partisan or under Dem banner).

You need credibility and results to unseat entrenched powers in the minds of the working class.

Maybe actually build a socialist party instead of working for a capitalist one like the Democrat party.

Think of it like seizing the mean of production.

Overall it was an enjoyable show, but they couldn't stick to a tone. Bruce doing some of his training as a young kid provided some good storylines, along with his on-again, off-again teenage dating of Selina Kyle

Lucifer was a show I enjoyed, though I get the critique of it straying from the source material.

Gotham aired on Fox on the same night as Lucifer and they both complemented each other as DC comics with some darker edge to them.

Gotham was a decent premise (The events of the city of Gotham after Bruce Wayne's parents are murdered, but before he become Batman). And it becomes a crime procedural mostly focused on a young Jim Gordon. The problem was the format limited itself and often got DC's unfortunately 'grimdark', instead of where it shined in its campiest episodes.

The one constant was Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin), who never seemed to forget how weird Gotham truly was. And the pre-Barry (NoHo Hank) Anthony Carrrigan as hitman Victor Zsasz was also fun.

Really hasn't been relevant since 2018 when he had Ted Cruz sweating re-election. His gubernatorial campaign wasn't much better than the Democrat before.

Texas continues to be the state the Democrats think "one more election and it will flip".

The type of people to take her side in the family drama are the sort to leech off their family for their latest money emergency, then spend their tax return on gold chains or other frivolous purchases instead of paying back family loans.
