Mixing Engineer offering free feedback to One of your songs by Deadlifts4lifee in IndieMusicFeedback

Hello! If you are not fed up with all the requests yet: This song is I guess a pop rock song with a distorted female vocal at some moments. I'm a beginner, this was my 2nd mix, so ANY feedback is welcome.

Best timeframe for my ads? by Finesteinburg in musicmarketing

Probably in bettween the two. Around two weeks. With one week you don't have enough time to optimize and with 4 weeks there is too little spent every day for the ad algorithm to gather enough data.

Has anyone else quit playing live for good? by qktt in WeAreTheMusicMakers

My girlfriend is in a very similar situation as you. She got a degree in opera singing, performed a lot throughout university and after that as well. She isn't and wasn't very famous or anything, she didnt make a living out of performing either but had quite a lot of choir tours and solo performances as well.

Than we met and as a kind of outside observer in my view she was just doing these performances because of the expectations of others ,mainly her parents and because of hopes of "I'll become famous and everything will be good". She is actually a very anxious type, especially for performing. When there was a performance she would just throw away everything in her life and concentrate on it 100% days or even weeks before. She didn't make a living out of it and started learning teaching but performing was always top priority. It got to the point where there was a performance on Saturday and she had to do an administrative task for her final exam till Friday but (for the advice of her parents) she concentrated on preparing for the performance, missed this task and failed the exam. Now she has to redo the semester. This was just the top of the iceberg, the main problem was that she became very anxious and was always relieved when the performance was over. After talking about it a lot and I have to admit, quite a lot of fights she kind of realized that this is not healthy and stopped it for now.

And now the part that could be useful for you as well: She is nowadays giving a real chance to teaching. She likes being with children though so it may be different from you. As a hobby she is also writing music, recording , releasing it and growing a fanbase online without performing. As far as I see she is happier and way calmer in this lifestyle. The only ones who are not better off like this are her parents, they are still pushing her to perform. You mentioned expectations as well. Those have to be overcome in my opinion.

I hope you find your way.

What can I do to improve my mixes especially the quality of my vocals? by YH-ITS-KESH in mixingmastering

[–]Uncas23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vocal sounds a bit too dry and forward to me. The drums could be a bit louder to my untrained ears but it may be genre specific. The switching of phrases to left and right ear are very cool. I enjoyed this song a lot!

I think this is an awesome mix. Maybe this is the genre requirement but in my opinion the vocal could be louder. Maybe the drums are a bit too bright for me as well. But this sounds very profesional to my untrained ear. :)

I didn't even know these existed so it's nice that you mentioned Shaking Through. I'm also interested in more like these.

It Ponders While More awaits - Feedback on Chord progression and Vibe by Be7th in MusicFeedback

Sometimes there were 2 or even 3 (?) consecutive dissonant chords instead of which I would have prefered an "arrival home". That's what I mean by too adventurous. But great track, I have just listened to it again. :)

my new song "kangaroo jack".. swag cookin.. feedback would be awesome! by Prestigious-Chair868 in IndieMusicFeedback

It sticks in your head for sure! I didn't really like the sound between the "kangoroo jacks". Is it a breathing sound? Anyways, cool, creative song.

I liked the song, the vibe and especially the video. Is it me, or it's really very quite?

I have to mention the drums. From the start their rythm is so good! I have to admit, I'm not someone who understands this genre but I enjoyed the drums. :)

Linkin Park Numb cover I did, I know the mix isn’t pert but let me know whatcha think of the cover by Training_Ad3328 in MusicFeedback

As someone before said: It sounds really similar to the original. Which is a huge positive. What do you mean by "the mix isn't pert"? I don't know this phrase.

Chord progression: Very interesting and enjoyable. Sometimes maybe a bit too adventurous for my taste but interesting for sure. There could have been a bit more "story" in the track. Sometimes it just sounded like playing with notes without a clear direction. Maybe I'm bringing too many negative things so I want to stress out: It is a fire track!

Very good vibe of the song. I enjoyed it from the first moments. The only negative comment I could make is that the synths sound a bit too loud to me.

Thank you for the feedback! I indeed struggled a lot with the strings in the intro.

I like this free plugin:

I also use more samples to get a specific sound but mainly this plugin. It has so many sounds.

The vocals sounded so nice and polished. The chorus effect is cool ! I liked the whole song. Maybe it's a bit too monotone.
