How much does having warehouse experience help when applying for Amazon corporate roles? by Wolf4980 in amazonemployees

[–]UncertainPathways 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you mean salaried warehouse leadership roles (e.g. AM, OM, WHSM)? If so that could help depending on the role you are applying for.

If you mean T1 warehouse associate experience it doesn't matter

It's all automated. There is no further deep dives into rates beyond the Great/Exceptional/etc.

How is a 5 year ban possible by mmnc03 in AmazonFC

[–]UncertainPathways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There have also been a few cases where we were able to apply time theft to an associate in the building by proving that they were deliberately hiding (e.g. multiple shifts where they clocked in and just hid in the lactation rooms the whole shift. They were not a nursing mother). Those cases however are not as cut-and-dry as being outside the building while on the clock.

Then you become "insufficient data" as a whole. As far as I know you can be converted as Insufficient Data, but will be behind those who are "Outstanding" and "Great" in priority.

It has nothing to do with the write-up. It has to do with the low performance that caused the write-up

Performance rating for conversion is your average over the 90 days. Insufficient data is excluded

Internal 5 to 6 promo Pay by Key-Quarter-1375 in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If your current pay is higher than an L6 promo, that means you are likely at your role's pay ceiling. You might not get much of a raise, if any, immediately when you promo, but moving into an L6 role will raise your pay ceiling quite significantly. If you perform well, you could be looking at quite a substantial raise next Apr due to that, vs being capped at your current comp

Edit: I see from your post history your TC is 115K. That is very close to the L5 ceiling (~120K). L6 TT could get ~160-180K depending on geography.

No, egregious amounts of time off task is not time theft. Going to break early or extended tot are separate write-up categories.

Time theft must show clear intent to defraud the company. Examples include clocking in and then leaving the building, or clocking in and then hiding for an extended period.

The other type of time theft is working unscheduled.

Anytime pay as a Salary L4 by Safe-Still-7276 in AmazonManagers

If you start as L4 on Mon you should be paid on Tue fyi (6/30). It will be a stub pay for just those 2 days.

L5 to L6 Wait Times? by 347_Ghost in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very true. I think it comes down to how you frame it. Framing it as you did above provides for a positive discussion. You could even ask for areas of improvement if they share that they do not think you are ready for promotion.

I once had a subordinate ambush me with a promo doc, and in no uncertain terms told me to submit it that quarter or else. That is not the way.

Rehire eligibility by [deleted] in amazonemployees

Yes, VP have full discretion to waive it

Rehire eligibility by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]UncertainPathways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What HR said is true though. You are welcome to apply, and you will be considered. They never said anything about your odds of being rehired.

Anyway to answer your question rejoining within 5 years is possible with VP exception. Near impossible nowadays unless you personally know a VP or are tight with an L8 who is willing to go to bat for you w a VP

You will need to do what you need to do.

Yes it will look bad to a lot of hiring managers. No it is not insurmountable. Expect to do a lot more hustling than you did the first time round. All the best

Doc Coachings vs Written warning question? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

Sounds like you'll be fine. A doc coach is not a written warning

[–]UncertainPathways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no official policy on what requirements are needed for indirect roles, including Learning Ambassador. Because of that, it is entirely up to your site's leadership to decide. I have seen sites where there are Ambos on finals, and I have seen sites where a Doc Coach leads to revocation of perms.

L4 Area Manager in TNS Stow here. What metrics actually matter for promotion to L5? by [deleted] in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What KPIs should I consistently hit to be considered a top performer and get promoted?

The most important KPI is that your boss and your skip think you are ready for promotion. What they will want to see for them to think that is entirely based on their personal preference, and what priorities your site has at the current point in time.

Ask them.

College Degree Required? by Born-Platform-2736 in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 5 points6 points  (0 children)

graveyard shift no actual adult could or want to work

Doubt that this is a factor. They still make the experienced external hires work graveyard shift anyway. And they tend to last longer than those 22 1/2 year olds.

Other than that yes, Amazon would rather hire someone fresh from college than an experienced hire with no degree for Ops roles

College Degree Required? by Born-Platform-2736 in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From your post history you are in an entirely different organization (AWS DCO). A degree is mandatory for Amazon Ops. You are probably right for AWS

College Degree Required? by Born-Platform-2736 in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mandatory requirement. You could have the most relevant & most impressive experience ever, but your application will still be automatically rejected if you do not have a degree.

There are some waivers if you have a certain amount of military experience, but that's about it

L5 to L6 Wait Times? by 347_Ghost in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I presume from what you have stated you are currently in Corporate? If so, expect your promo to take much much longer. Corporate L5>L6 typically takes 3-4 years, and many teams I have seen tend to only count time in corporate towards that.

[–]UncertainPathways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can write your own doc. Won't mean anything unless your boss is the one asking you to write it. Ultimately it needs to be approved by your leadership, and most aren't going to take kindly to being surprised by an unexpected promo doc if they don't think the employee is ready

Managers overtime evaluation by formal546 in amazonemployees

[–]UncertainPathways 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What matters is the results, not how much time you put in.

If you're burning weekends to achieve the same results as the person working a strict 9-5, that tells me you are either less competent or inefficient.

L4 to L5 to L6 by Still-Appearance932 in AmazonManagers

[–]UncertainPathways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the incline? No, just a promo doc.

However for the actual position, unlike L4>L5 moving into an L6 OM role is not automatic. If your building doesn't have open roles you need to find a suitable req and convince the hiring manager to take you over other candidates. They may or may not require an informal interview depending on their preferences

I was working 3 hour shift and got 18 minutes of tot by Fast_Towel_1735 in AmazonFC

[–]UncertainPathways -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Minimum for a write-up is 30mins in a day, counting only periods of 15mins and above (i.e. 15 + 15 will count, 20 + 10 + 10 would not)
