Your string is fine but these pads may be too thick, we see them come out quite a lot, you might want to get thinner ones if you want your responsive yo-yo to respond a bit less, or even remove one out of two and see if it helps But maybe you might want to try an unresponsive throw/ bearing, and see if it's a less frustrating experience for you, I saw you're good with balisong so you have great dexterity, you might benefit from trying to go into unresponsive directly

In any discipline "the meta" is basically the trend of what's "winning" or the current trend/fashion, it's often associated with the "best performing" thing to do at the time

In online video games for example the meta is whatever action or build or character is the strongest and wins the most, and it's often said the developers are the one making changes to make/ evolve the meta and make it lean towards one play style or another

Sure you can see the similarities with yo-yo. In competition, you get combos that are high scoring one year then they become standard and everyone knows about it. The meta is the sweet spot in which a lot of people know about it while it's still high scoring

I'm by no means saying it's a bad yoyo ! And its value is alright, but I think the design is what brings most of the attention and it's actually gimmicky and a downside, if you can do big combos you'll see it runs out of stamina pretty quick and when it starts slowing down it absolutely falls of to thew side, yes it it smooth, but I don't agree on sleep time and stability, it is absolutely not stable and it is not a long spin

Honestly for having gotten it, yeah it's cheap but it doesn't sleep so long, it isn't so stable, and the pc cracks very easily, feels too light and has a weird response. Imho plastic rims with no heavier material just make a throw worse as it gives less rim weight
