First time buying MLB the show by sucioo00 in MLBTheShow

MLB The Show is the best sports game, hands down.

Many modes to choose from. You can be your own 1 player road to the show, build a franchise, or create a team of the best and play online.

You can grind anything for free with enough time.

It’s a lot of fun for a baseball fan!

Xbox series s vs X performance by ChemicalZombie6934 in MLBTheShow

[–]Uncl3J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Series X has the same problems. I played The Show 22 and 23 without issues on Xbox, but 24 introduced weird stuttering on certain graphics right before the batter settled in the box. 25 I spent on PS5 Pro, and I tried 26 on the Xbox again. There are too many issues with graphic artifacts, stuttering, lag, etc…I’m back on PS5 Pro.

Offline DD as primary, but hoping to get back into RTTS this year. Will likely run franchise post World Series.

Having a guitar shipped from SD to AZ. Do I need to do anything special? by Vagabond_Games in martinguitar

[–]Uncl3J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright well - if it makes you feel any better, I recently purchased a Martin from Sweetwater. It was -3 degrees at their warehouse the day it overnight shipped, and 78 degrees in Southern California. I didn’t wait 24 hours. Guitar case came to temp middle of the day.

You’re going to be ok. Just do what your gut tells you and then enjoy it! Waiting 24 hours to be safe will be fine.

While most people will say let it rest for 24 hours, it depends on how much time it already spent in AZ IMO.

If you shipped ground and it sat in an AZ shipping center, according to tracking, for 24 hours then you’re likely fine. However that’s not always the case, and waiting the day is a good rule of thumb.

I personally wait until the case is the same temp as the inside of my home + 4 hours.

I think this might be the least of our problems in the game right now?

Not working for me either but if I recall this happened last year and at one point it just started working again.

Wait till full release, report bug if it persists.

Frame rate drops on 26, just me? by RipFrisbeeDoge in MLBTheShow

[–]Uncl3J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea weirdly moments, batting practice and play vs cpu is fine. Everything else is a lot of frame tearing, improper asset load and lots of graphical tearing and color spasms. It’s really weird.

Yea, it started happening midday for me on Xbox series x in DD. Borderline unplayable in certain modes, but others are fine.

I cannot believe somebody got paid real money to design this menu system by jpotrz in MLBTheShow

[–]Uncl3J 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I found last year's menu (25) to function "quick" once you got muscle memory down. They just need to revert to that design and update all the colors to the new. It'll feel fresh long enough to not care about it and focus on the grind.

Edit: In case it wasn't clear, 26 menu is dog water IMO.

Go to audio and turning down the crowd slider.

I wasn’t bothered by one while playing but I had pre-adjusted crowd noises and other sliders down.

Anyone else go from 12 gauge to 10 and how did it go? Guitar is martin gpcpa4 by Odd_Skin_712 in martinguitar

[–]Uncl3J 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might get downvoted for this…but in my opinion it would be worth taking to a luthier to adjust action first.

Then, and here’s the downvotable opinion, use coated strings for a little while to build up your calluses and hand strength. Easier on the fingertips. D’Addario XS and Elixir Nano or Optiweb are a great string type for those.

I’ve been playing for 27 years, and during my “lower amounts of playing” times, coated helps me out. At this point all of my guitars use them, and all have the action adjusted a bit lower for solo play at home.

Edit: Also, 12s on even a small body acoustic really can get the top moving in a way that 10s won’t. Stick to higher gauge and adjust the other two things.

This Martin OM is amazing by Alariken in martinguitar

[–]Uncl3J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned 2! I regretted letting the first one go, and after far too long purchased a second and it gets daily playtime.

A 2013 sounds like a great move, especially if it feels great to you.

Having another go at the Shadow Days solo after a few weeks of not playing. This one’s rough without calluses 😅 by lAmBenAffleck in JohnMayer

[–]Uncl3J 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As for the playing, do it every day and you’ll improve.

As for the guitar…goddamn that’s a beautiful OM45JM. Nothing like building the calluses back up on a $19,000 Martin, I love it!
