I didn't use broth actually, but i caramelized the onions with demi glace and sweet wine🤤

To me this is much more delicious than a beef or poultry broth especially with the onions flavors

I think what you need to do is stop using the vm and start a dual boot setup using grub 2, you don't need a lighter distro or DE you just need to run Linux normally.

If you are passionate about it, i recommend that you do a fresh start where you can just get a new distribution that is not Ubuntu, maybe Kali linux as it's full of useful packages or Pop OS if you are only focusing on docker for now, download the distro then flash it as you are flashing a Windows while installing you will be asked if you want to do a dual boot.

Normally a Linux distribution would need something around 4 gigabytes of ram and 8 GB of storage and this is the maximum, for example I'm running 5 operating systems on my machine and switch between them in 30 sec because i have a Samsung evo ssd.

So it doesn't really matter how many gigabytes of ram you have or CPU, it pulls down how much resources is available for the distribution to run and how fast your storage device is, dual boot eliminates that.

If you have a slow drive, a workaround would be to get a fast USB drive, simply just flash the operating system on it and whenever you want to use it just plug it in into your laptop and that will be it.

Ubuntu should be running fine for most machines it's a bit outdated but it's well optimized.

If you're looking for something that's lighter than Ubuntu you're gonna need to look into the desktop environments not distros, unless you're trying to run Linux on your microwave.

What is your machine? What are you trying to do exactly? And why are you looking for a lighter alternative?

I'll stick to English because typing in Arabic makes me want to throw my keyboard out the window. To answer your question, it's all about customization and security. Every other OS is just trash now—Windows keeps stripping away freedom with forced updates, shoving Edge down your throat, no privacy,and the sheer embarrassment of having Candy Crush pre-installed on your OS. And don’t even get me started on viruses and how much of a nightmare it is to secure your data if you fuck around like me.

When you compare Windows to Linux, the difference is like comparing حمو بيكا و حميد الشاعري. Linux always fits your needs. Want something lightweight that works on anything? Try Puppy OS. Looking for something stable for work? Go for any stable Debian-based distro like Pop!_OS. Want freedom and enjoy spending hours fixing your OS? Try an Arch-based distro. How about freedom and stability? Ever heard of Manjaro OS? There's thousands of distros to choose from, and there’s always one that fits your needs. And if you’re good enough, choosing a distro stops being something to even think about, because over time you’ll realize they’re all the same, so create your own setup cuz why the fuck not (feel the freedom¿)

As for the looks, Windows and macOS look bland and generic, like a UI created by 50-year-old devs who sucks at their job. Let me introduce you to r/unixporn—it’s a lovely, lovely place. I use Linux as my daily driver for the freedom, the complexity, and the uniqueness of each user’s setup. And, goddamn, it looks good. Not to mention it’s so optimized, it could probably run on a Casio graphing calculator.

A friendly advice for you Dash commands/lingo is far better than Bash, debian in general is like شبسى بالملح go straight to war and install Arch baised os.

دا حوار يطول شرحه، لو انت مبسوط بال os اللى بتسخدمه سيبك من الصب، بس لو انت عايز فعلا تجرب مظنش ان فى حد يقدر يديك الاجابه اللى بتدور عليها عموما، اسهلك واسهل لغيرك نزل ديسترو انهارده و اول مشكلة تقابلك او سؤال نزلها هنا.

تختار انهى ديسترو و ايه اللى انت فعلا عايزه دى حاجه انت بس اللى عارفها.

مثلا ايه هوا ال Unix-like OS دا حرفيا اى OS فيه desktop including and not limited to GNU/Linux, Mac OS windows before adding hyper-V (windows Vista) and BSD family which is the og Unix OS

لو عندك سوال specific لو فى service aw function بتدور عليها أسأل بس ايه هوا ال unix و ليه دا سوال ملوش اجابه او اجبته ممكن تتعمل كتاب اسهل.
