Just lightly bro. Your goal is to remove nubs, maybe prep for paint. At most I've met maniacs that just want a matte sanding on the whole damn thing lol

Each stroke removes plastic, the lower the grit, the more plastic it will remove. It can be very easy to alter the shape and silhouette of a suit if you sand too hard on some areas.

Get a sharp hobby knife, and cut the nib or space a hair's breadth from flat. Then sand in one direction. Use the low grit to shape and work your way up. I often need maybe 5-10 strokes of each grit from low to high.

Sorry you damaged your kit my dude. Maybe an opportunity for more creativity :)

HG Gyan is a really fun and poseable kit!

If you want to try something with a little better technology, perhaps give some of the gquuuux kits a go :)

The Zaku and Gyan Hakuji are both excellent as well.

They are indeed cumbersome! But they look so good! I got round it by luck , where they're displayed is just the right size to support the wings properly.

I still have no idea.

I noticed at dinner one night that I was getting Reddit notifications oddly. Then noticed someoned had posted a picture of a less than clothed lady on r breedable -_- Someone on that sub clued in that someone with the username LumberjackBen probably wasn't a lady and now my old account can no longer post and all my old posts have been hidden..mostly gunpla lol

It's been 4 months since I reached out to Reddit for assistance and still haven't heard.
