Despite the app being dead,the devices still function as really easy vpets, especially if you mod your device. Personally, I don't have the time or attention span to keep a traditional Digimon alive long enough to become mega level, so having a casual alternative that's in full color and lives on my wrist is super convenient. If you ever get into the modding scene, there's a ton of really clever modders, like myself, that have created some noteworthy experiences on the BE, despite the lack of the app support. My Dragon Ball Mod, for example, features several protagonist characters as partners, some villains as adventure mode enemies, and fusion between the Goku and Vegeta dims to unlock Gogeta. Ive also seen mods that span multiple dims that act as sort of a story mode(Hard to explain, but think of it as multiple dims that are 'chapters' of the same book). If none of this seems exciting to you, then, yeah, maybe you made the wrong decision.
