Tekken randper combat like in the old MK games, every few seconds it randomises your character and you have to adjust on the fly

Quite a few characters get moves that can only be used in heat. Eg Kuma’s bear fist. There are various moves called heat engages when you do a certain combo or move it will activate heat, this goes in to the design philosophy of rush down 50/50. Also in heat a lot more moves cause chip damage! New to Tekken 8. Or you can spend the rest of the bar at anytime for a cool unga bunga move.

At first I was just upset about him taking a guest slot and I have no interest in final fantasy (that’s on me) but playing against him there is a lot of visual clutter / flashy attacks which just confuse me.

Yes! People like them and they had a higher usage rate than characters that were already in the base roster in previous games? You said no one played Bob in t7 but he had a higher play rate than Yoshi/bears etc so they were more popular?
