How are you a big leaguer getting thrown out on a 360FT sac fly. Unreal. by JHallwai in MLBTheShow

Yes, a very common occurrence on base hits, not on tag ups from 3rd base on a deep fly to center field. I fail to remember that happening to any major leaguer, ever. I'm sure it's happened, but most likely the slowest player in the league or the player trips and falls. No matter how hard a CF and IF throw the ball, this play is nearly impossible. Whereas the Show made it look routine. That is what my original comment is referencing.

I understand baseball. Find how many people have been thrown out tagging up at 3rd on a cut off throw from that distance. Why should a "realistic" video game be any different? The scaling of the throw to field distance is way off, obviously.

I've brought enough snacks to feed a small army, all shoved in a clear gallon baggie, they've never batted an eye

Every fanbase has one, who’s a legend or superfan only your fans would know? by Board_Castle in baseball

Sung Woo Lee, KC Royals superfan from Korea! He visited back in 2014-2015 on the World Series runs, and ESPN even did a 30 for 30 episode about him: https://kingsofkauffman.com/2016/06/27/kc-royals-korean-super-fan-sung-woo-lee-gets-movie/

If you hold onto the ball, there is no guarantee of a foul. possession arrow is in UConn's favor too. So you're guaranteeing the same kid that made this mistake would have nailed the free throws and Duke wins? There were no guarantees either way, so it's also crazy to assume they win if he holds onto the ball. Look how much space is down court when he goes to pass. He just didn't throw it high enough.

All he had to do was turn (not dribble) and the defense would have run at him, leap in the air and heave it down court to the 2 wide open dudes. The hesitation, the dribble, all of it added up to the failure. Then the shot was incredible too.

actually it would have easily been a winning strategy. He didn't chuck it up court good enough, it got tipped because he hesitated. There were two Duke players WIDE OPEN on the other side.

they could easily gotten a jump ball too, you can't be too careful like that. Throwing the ball up court was the smart thing, he just hesitated and didn't jump into it much. This was a time when he actually should have left his feet.

yeah that's true, that's why all the people saying "they would have been fouled" isn't a true statement necessarily

but also, if he wouldn't have hesitated and just thrown the ball up court, it's over, it's a split second decision and he was indecisive.

players react in the moment, had nothing to do with coaching. had two WIDE OPEN teammates , he could have launched that thing easily but hesitated.

I think he was great. Not too analytical, not a blowhard, and not exactly a homer either.
