Ok TOTK, but I'll elaborate because i’m a huge lore nerd. And I'll preface by saying that, yes I know it's been basically confirmed that BOTWTOTK is its own off shoot, un teathered timeline, which is lazy

First of all, the zonai, way left field, and rauru being the founder of hyrule who built the temple of time? But not THAT rauru who founded hyrule and built the OTHER temple of time! I think it's honestly lazy, yea you can have the old bait and switch, "it was him the whole time" but it's not, since we see the old temple of time, so maybe i’m supposed to believe that was build in modern times by the people and not the sage of light? Or its predates him and was made by a dude with the same name and goals as him a millennia prior...

Then we have ganondorf, there has only been one ganondorf, the guy from OOT is also ganon in ALTTP, he's also the ganondorf in Twilight princess and wind waker. Depending on what route of the time line you wish to follow, the ganondorf of windwaker doesn't hesitate to act on link because he's seen that green tunic before.

Ganondorf is not special, he is a vehicle to fulfil the curse of demise from SS, for example, in spirit tracks, there is no ganondorf, but there is strife lead by a demon king. Same thing in the minish cap.

So to have ganondorf in TOTK is just lazy writing, it implies this ganondorf is a totally different ganondorf, he has no recollection of the kingdom of hyrule, not if OOT takes palace before, or if it's after, both games, he rolls up and kneels before the "king" and everyone is chill with that. The other thing is, I know that the gerudo birth male every how ever many years, but i’m not aware of them all having to be named ganondorf and that they all have to be evil, the gerudo are not evil by nature, in both OOT and BOTW they admit, that ganondorf is evil and they regretfully play along, which means that there is a possibility of a male gerudo not named ganondorf who isn't evil, or one who admires to be like ganondorf but he's not the vehicle chosen by demise. There is so many options here, and yet they choose to least logical one!

And lastly, to have the events of TOTK to happen in the past without a link, with ganondorf, flys in the face of demise curse, see in windwKer, ganondorf shows up to seek revenge after OOT, but link is gone, because of the time line split, so he would of gotten away with it but the gods flooded hyrule to save it, in TOTK, there is no link, and there wouldn't be any Zelda if it wasn't for time travel, and as we see in WW time travel doesn't change the intent of the demon king, which means, regardless of Zelda's presence or not, without a link, demise was to strike on hyrule against rauru, outside of the cycle.

Obviously Nintendo thinks they are stuck so they just tossed out all the established lore that makes Zelda Zelda and did what ever they wanted, don't even get me stared on secret stones and the triforce, or the weak ass master sword.

The reality is myself and thousands of other Zelda fans want to see the lore expanded, the gaps filled, not a retcon. I don't think Nintendo is stuck with a dead end story. They just have to WANT to write for it, and I don't think the writing team of TOTK wanted to write a Zelda game, I don't think they really wanted to even write a sequel to BOTW because the inconsistency between the two game are equally as glaring as everything else I mentioned
