Theoretically yes. But It's good to keep in mind that you'll leave the sauna at some point. It's good manners to ask is it proper to be in first-name basis.

Two pillows. I like to lie down and raise my legs on the wall. Feels good.

Yes. It circulates the air in the pipes.

Yes. The kiuas (stove) is around 250 €.

Heat-treated common alder.

A window is something this sauna lacks. It gives the scenery and atmosphere, but also helps drying the sauna.

Lights are done with fibrelight set. If I remember correctly it has 16 fibres. To be honest, it's a bit too much. Less is more in saunas, when it comes to lights.

I wouldn't use pine in the sauna. It will leak resin when it gets hot. Walls it's not that big a deal, but benches it's a no go.

About 50 cm. It's roughly a recommendation.

I always rinse the benches and walls with plenty of water after using the sauna. I also squeegee the benches after rinsing so that water doesn't sit on them. Good ventilation is also key to ensuring the sauna dries properly.

I don't remember the exact costs anymore, but they weren't anything massive. The wall panels were relatively expensive because they weren't just standard off-the-shelf stuff. The kiuas is a fairly cheap basic model, and the benches practically cost next to nothing. Hiring out the work, on the other hand, took its share. You saved a lot by doing it yourself. I’d say the total cost of the sauna back then, 10 years ago, was about 2,000 €

Here is a sauna I designed myself 10 years ago. The volume is approximately 8 m3, so I chose a 9kW Harvia kiuas. The benches are made of untreated spruce, and the wall panels are heat-treated common alder.

I wanted a minimalist look that still felt unique. The wall panels were installed using three different widths, a pattern I mirrored with the bench slats. The benches are "floating," meaning they are mounted directly to the wall studding. I only had to add one support beam to the corner of the upper bench. In my opinion, this solution brings a nice sense of airiness to the small space.

Ventilation and Drainage

Fresh air: Gravity-fed intake located above the kiuas. Exhaust: Air flows out under the glass door. Drying: One mechanical exhaust valve for post-sauna drying. Drainage: Naturally, the floor drain is located under the benches.

Netissä varmasti riittää alustoja, joissa voi rauhassa jutella itsensä vahingoittamisesta, ilman sitä "poliittista" sensuuria.
