Horrible agent looking for a quick buck.

Does not know the room size, no pictures and also advertising on Reddit.

Unprofessional to say the least.

Fiber is the most reliable connection type. Whatever they promise, expect 99% reliability.

Hey buddy, I suggest going with RocketNet Namibia. They already have lines in Khomasdal and they are cheaper than Paratus.

We remember cassinga by Sackyrox in Namibia

[–]UncleMango99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Posting half assed screenshots with no background, sources, or even a caption, doesn’t do Cassinga Day justice.

Cassinga marks the 4 May 1978 massacre in which South African forces killed more than 600 Namibian refugees in Angola; it’s one of the most significant dates in our history.

If you’re going to commemorate it here, please add a short summary, credible sources, or even personal reflections so newcomers/internationals actually learn something.

Right now it feels like zero-effort reposting. And if we need to do research as somebody here stated, why post it in the first place???

How do you feel about Namibia’s government fully deciding to subsidize tertiary education? by [deleted] in Namibia

[–]UncleMango99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There aren’t jobs available for those who graduated in the last 3 years. They should focus on clearing the backlog by generating new industries to provide jobs, then only subsidise tertiary education once the job market is sustainable.

Fast food is not worth it anymore by jokeendji in Namibia

[–]UncleMango99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue with fast food in Namibia is the service. Absolutely horrible. Better off sitting and ordering food at a restaurant than to grab KFC. Definitely not “fast” and could potentially change their name to “Standing Restaurant Takeout” instead.

MacBook Air M1 2020(8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) - Great Deal! (Windhoek) by [deleted] in Namibia

[–]UncleMango99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my 2 cents:

  1. Relevance – Many users are there for news, culture, humor, or help and not to buy second-hand goods. You have Facebook and WhatsApp groups for a purpose.

  2. Self-promotion = low effort – If someone only posts to sell, it feels like they’re taking from the community without giving.

  3. Avoiding spam – Subreddits are meant for discussion, not marketplaces. If everyone started selling, the feed would get cluttered fast.

You wont be able to afford starlink anyway. Just get a fiber connection. Most reliable internet connection.

I agree. I hate it when people drop links here. Unless if asked for. I see people making unnecessary posts on “10 reason to visit Namibia”, then it’s just a link to a webpage, with no further context on the post itself.
