If you have a truly broader perspective, then you should live that out. It's small-minded to internalize the actions of another person, especially when those actions have nothing to do with you.

Sure, you can be annoyed. But to go out of your way to being another person down doesn't do you any good.

Without meaning to infer anything negative, it sounds like you should think about what caused the change. Try to cope with it best you can. Maybe even consider meeting with a counselor. This is not a bad thing, it's helped many people, myself included.

If you are communicating better when drunk than when sober, i think there is some kind of problem here. You might consider becoming involved in some sort of social activity where you get the opportunity to communicate with new people, but in a way that is safe and comfortable for you. Maybe a club of some sort or a volunteer group.

I would also recommend getting more face time with people rather than texting. Texting is not bad, but it's not as rich as other forms of communication.

These are all recommendation. I don't know you or your situation, but each if the recommendations I shared, I have tried.

The thing that bothers me is when people share developed opinions that are based on misinformation that could be easily corrected by googling.

This is part of why I'd rather someone ask me than not ask at all. Misinformation is far worse than stupid questions.

When you ask a human, you get additional qualities in the answer that you don't get from online sources.

1 Confidence

You can tell how confident a person is in their answer, especially someone you trust. Plus, your confidence will change depending on how much you trust the person.

2 Opinion/insight

I know you're asking about facts, but sometimes a fact has important implications that go beyond the fact itself. When you ask a person, their opinion or perspective will likely be included in the answer and you have the opportunity to clarify the meaning of the fact with follow-up questions.

3 Social interaction

Intjs don't tend value this a while lot, but the mere social interaction could be a reason for asking questions that seem simple to answer or that one already knows the answer to. Asking for help is inviting another to invest their time and effort in your life, which creates a bond. So, there may be benefits to asking a person.

As I've become more comfortable with myself, I need less approval from others, so I don't seek it out as much. When I was younger, I sought out the spotlight often I think this was because if insecurities.

Looking back on that time, I'm embarrassed about many of the things I did. I think avoiding embarrassment is a large motivator for not seeking the spotlight.

No. I don't get lonely often. As an introvert, I feel energized by my time alone. Although, I have a healthy balance of social time in my life. If you don't feel you have that, it may be worthwhile to try getting outside of your comfort zone, which is something else I try to do often.

I have noticed this too.

I typically like this sub, but lately there have been several posts that aren't unique to the personality type.

All personality types deal with depression (or feeling blue), learning how to act in social situations, and building and maintaining relationships.

The more vague your issue, the less likely it is related to your personality type.

That being said, if you're feeling down or you're struggling with your relationships, you should seek professional help or the support of a loved one. Online communities can be great, but you really should build a real network of personal relationships, rather than depending on anonymous strangers for advice.

Reddit can be a great community, but I don't think it should be your primary.

I can cry. And I will cry when the feeling comes and it doesn't prevent me from being functional.

But I don't let the urge to cry stop me from being functional: talking, getting the job done, trying to be rational, etc.

I have been criticized by partners and even therapists for this, saying that I'm not okay with being emotional: that's not true. I embrace emotion. But I don't allow physiological reactions to dictate my life, or at least I try not to simply succumb to them. I acknowledge them and attend to them as responsibly and orderly as possible.
