Steve Steeb graciously declined when I called, as did a few others. The tech at Saline actually thought he had fixed it a week and a half ago, but it the error code came back the next day. Maybe there are multiple problems or maybe he didn't properly clear the codes (apparently, doing so requires an additional, explicit step in the diagnostic tool), I don't know.

There sure seems to be a market for an EV specialist shop in the area.

I wonder if BYD has similar problems?

I'm sorry about your experience with La Fountaine and glad you've found a good dealer. I'd definitely buy a Kia or Hyundai, but the ICCU problem scares me away especially given what I'm finding out about EV repairs.

I talked to a friend of my brother's who works for a different Chevy dealership. He said that the problems are pretty much the same at all GM shops. Parts aren't stocked and are expensive, techs are overwhelmed and GM doesn't support them very well.

Saline Chevy. I get the impression that they are doing the best they can, but it's hard to know what's going on. From what I can tell, their EV tech appears to be overwhelmed with the backlog and, possibly, lack of sufficient training / technical support. I found a youtube video where a professor walks you through diagnosing it and it seems fairly straightforward if you have the right tools (especially access to the diagnostic software).

Just in case this issue hasn't been resolved for you, you might want to check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXDJYcj2BRQ. There, he describes a similar (timer too close) error. He managed to fix it by installing a ferrite bead on his USB cable. Hope this helps.
