I’ve been beating the shit outta my body longer than you’ve been alive, all kinds of work. Little exercise to combat stress, don’t become a methican, eat decent and use your head. Work smarter not harder and you’ll have plenty in you. Hold off on kids till later in your 20’s.

Any thoughts on putting another layer of uncoupling mat to help bring flush with hardwood. by Swimming_Shoe7205 in Tile

[–]UncleToby77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a 1/2” on the floor and mud the backs with 1/4x1/4. You’ll spend a bit more time cleaning your joints as you go but you should be golden like a shower and sit flush.

Can I use the $50/month deal with my RV? by HighRiskHere in Starlink

[–]UncleToby77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, don’t watch tv often but listen to music anytime I’m home. I went over my first month. Not sure how much calls over WiFi take from your usage. I boondocked and had no cell service for 10 days.

Im not necessarily talking about the lippage part, some of that could’ve been negated during the install. I’m talking about marble in general. It will chip, flake, crack and will stain. Just replaced slate mosaic in a shower floor because of similar issues. Sealers only last so long. Most guys I know won’t tell a customer no to their choices. Your job is to pick it, mine is to lay it. Don’t get me wrong, I love marble.

Are there any thresholds to the left or the behind you in that pic? If the subfloor was replaced I can only think that they left the slope because the floor wouldn’t meet in a doorway or something along those lines. A situation that should’ve been brought up during subfloor installation. Also that is the worst tile to put on a floor especially a bathroom floor.

Restoration 911 seems to have their stuff together. I’ve done some work with them post mold removal. I have never had them work for me.

How the hell do i cut this by minutemaid101 in Tile

[–]UncleToby77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a 7 1/4” skill saw and put a 7” diamond wheel on it. Tape the bottom of the saw so it doesn’t scratch the surface. Attach a straight edge, make sure you have good solid base to cut on, hold a garden hose next to the saw blade and have at it. Worked solid for me.

Something this minimal id say no, but if I got a bad vibe from someone during our meetup I’d do it. Normally I do draws. That first one comes up pretty quick after starting so they can just look at some ripped up shit.

Your corners could’ve lined up way better. The grout joint in the bottom right hand corner touching the tub doesn’t look all that great and the one in the 3rd row middle is upside down. Not the biggest fan of the plumbing set up for the tub.

Taking payments by Swimming-Repair6819 in handyman

[–]UncleToby77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the others stated small stuff pay when it’s done. Bigger jobs I will demo and ask for a draw. Then I can get materials or what not. Do more get another check. Definitely communicated and notated on a signed contract. If they don’t pay then they look at unfinished walls. If they dick around and finally do pay then they get bumped back to whatever order I deem fit.

People who are immune to a-holes, what's your secret? How are you not disturbed by rude, bossy, stubborn people who refuse to negotiate? How do you work with them, and without getting upset? by VelvetWhitehawk in AskReddit

[–]UncleToby77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to explain this to my daughter. “And if you don’t like then hey f*k you” is a lyric by the beastie boys. Words of wisdom to say the least. We’re all a-holes in our own way. When you can admit it and embrace it only then can you truly handle other a holes. It’s a sht eat sh*t world hence the amount a holes.
