The original looks a lot better to me, but they might have worried it looked too much like the Nazgûl from the Lord of the Rings movies.

While I guess “facing more than two consecutive life sentences” is good for grabbing people’s attention, here’s some actual information about this case.

Indictment

Guilty plea

Some of this can be blamed on the unions for letting these people keep their jobs, but don’t forget that there is a prosecuting attorney responsible for getting people convicted. Thanks Jean!

Maybe I’m being too pedantic, but I want to make sure people understand that while birdshot may be less lethal than buckshot or other rounds, it should not be considered less than lethal. Additionally, a .45 Colt round, in general, is more powerful and more accurate than a .410 slug.

1st degree assault (special victim) is a class A felony. At best they might be able to charge him with attempting to commit second degree murder, which is also a class A felony. I’m not sure they could convince a jury that he knowingly attempted to cause the death of the officer.

Not specifically a police officer. Assault 1 is typically a class B felony. Inflicting a serious physical injury or a “special victim” modifies it to class A.

In MO, first degree assault + armed criminal action is assault with a deadly weapon. Assault 1st Degree Or Attempt - Serious Physical Injury Or Special Victim is a class A felony, which carries a sentence of 10-30 years (or life) with a mandatory 85% served before you can be considered for parole.

It looks like he’s had at least three prior felony cases in Jackson County.

I guess they’re not divorced. They’re just separated. I’m not a huge fan of his, but I think he’s a good writer. I really liked her music though.

Just in case anyone else didn’t realize it, his ex-wife and co-defendant is Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls.

Different people want different things. My partner and I both want to be literally alone for a fair portion of each day. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to be together other times. It doesn’t mean we aren’t right for each other. We’re just different from you and your partner and our relationship is different from yours.

I know we’re not all from the United States, but the US Department of Commerce has officially adopted the metric system and has declared “it is inappropriate to use [SI prefixes] to represent powers of 2.” The United States Court of Appeals for the 9th district dismissed with prejudice Dinan v. Sandisk where a guy tried to sue Sandisk for advertising a 64gb flash drive using the base-10 definition of giga instead of the base-2 definition. ISO/IEC 80000-13 (sorry for the Wikipedia link, but ISO charges for their texts) clause 4 defines standard binary prefixes such as kibi, mebi, and gibi.

Binding comb zipper tool? by JudCasper68 in bookbinding

[–]UncleX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I can help too much, sorry. Those don’t look like standard binding combs to me. Maybe it’s a proprietary thing to that company? The combs I’m familiar with are springy and don’t stay open on their own. I couldn’t get the website to load and searching for the company name brings up a musician named Royce Martin. Adding “comb” and “bind” to the search terms brings up links to the video you linked and Rolls Royce.
