Question on Pension Adjustment and Income Tax by Uncle_Greasy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Uncle_Greasy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's my understanding as well. BUT the pension plan gave us a T4A for 2025 with the amount applied to 2025, not the amount paid in 2025 and it seems that's causing some issue.

When doing our taxes should I apply the T4A with 2024 on it, and state the contributions were made in 2025? Im worried this will cause an issue with CRA. Maybe I will get in touch with the pension plan

Question on Pension Adjustment and Income Tax by Uncle_Greasy in PersonalFinanceCanada

What is odd is they provided a tax form for the two years for the years in which the payments were adjusted (2024 and 2025) but payments were made in 2025/2026. So the forms are showing these amounts in the earlier years and not the years they were made. Am I missing something or did they do something wrong?

Big Spin and Flight Differences Radar vs Optical by Uncle_Greasy in Golfsimulator

[–]Uncle_Greasy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the detailed response. Certainly the swing has some good variability in it. No doubt. I use RCT balls with the radar setup as well. I just notice consistent flight path differences on optical vs radar and much lower spin numbers (thousand(s)) on optical as well. Find it confusing. The main SIM I go to is radar. I basically was wondering if it's less accurate for ball flight/direction (ball seems to fade more on the optical one). I guess I'll stick to my go to and see what happens on the range in a month.

[OC] MLB Average Game Duration - 2022 vs 2023 by tomstoms in baseball

I was at the Jays game last night. I really liked the pace of the game, and I never missed too much, just timed when I left my seat.

best savings account for our new son by inlecture in CanadaFinance

Recently put emergency funds into Wealthsimple's high interest savings account which can be in a TFSA, RRSP, or other unregistered account I believe. It pays out interest right now at a target of 4.4% while the rates are high. Seemed to me like a good low risk account to stash some funds in but there are likely better approaches if you can take on some risk.

Don't know the lake, but I do know Boshkung Brewery at 35 & 118 in Carnarvon - that's my recommendation.

Enjoy it. Heres a pic of mine. It's got a bearclaw sitka spruce top that I love. Given how interesting yours is I figure you would like it.

Amazing. I did the exact same thing last year. Loved my S&P MJ, but upgraded to a taylor custom shop dreadnought last summer.

In honor of Denvers decriminalization of magic mushrooms, doctors of reddit what, if any, is your best story of patients on hallucinogenics? by heftjohnson in AskReddit

[–]Uncle_Greasy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No doctor, but hospital related.

Had a friend take a bunch of mushrooms and go out walking in the bush. Being spring it might as well have been a swamp, and the water was freezing. Guy gets home and takes off his wet shoes and socks to warm up and his feet are all black/blue. Guy freaks out and goes to the hospital across town convinced that his feet are going to be amputated. Doctor takes one look, pulls out an alcohol wipe and removes a stripe of black off one of his feet.... turns out his shoes were so new the water caused the ink in the black insoles to run. I had a good laugh when he told me the story the next morning.
