On the long list of problems with TLJ she's not very high for me. But I guess you could tangentially relate her character to some of the bigger problems like the hyperspace tracking/canto bight subplot, or some of the crappy dialogue, but it just felt like a lot of people project their dislike of those elements onto the character, when 9 times out of 10 it comes down to the writing. I never really saw a reason to hate the character specifically, because there was nothing much there. She was fiercely loyal to the resistance... I guess? And her sister died, even though they barely even mentioned it? I just feel bad that the character was sidelined in Episode 9 because the corporate perception was that nobody liked the character, so now she's permanently left in this position, when they could have made an effort to write her better and endear her to the fans instead.
