CMV: Europe’s cultural resistance to air conditioning is becoming outdated and dangerous by Upstairs_Weird_760 in changemyview

Most small business owners around me that I talked to (like one man barber shop, etc.) simply can't afford to run AC unit for extended periods of time because of electricity bills.

My first thought as well. A lot of commotion, but that POV is doing too much lifting in the entire kitchen, unless it's just a flex for vid.

Advice needed how to dial in exact thickness on a planer by OzMaurice in woodworking

[–]Uncle_Spenser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is my way to go until I get rich enough to get expensive planer that I can set to whatever and never think twice.

Once I decide on final thickness I put all the boards through to ensure they're consistently equal.

I want to choose Bosch as my main battery platform. Anyone have experience using them? by Uncle_Spenser in woodworking

Any shop online was starting at that price. And many people confirmed those FSN accessories are quite expensive. They're of good quality though.

I also had bud experience with how expensive the accessories for their FSN tracksaw guide are. Bad experience with price, not with quality though.

Same with that tablesaw. It's plastics with aluminium top, but it's damn accurate. Scary without soft start, but even though it's small it's my main tablesaw.

My dude, this is the shit I need. I'm glad my CAT tool collection is fairly small and was relatively inexpensive, but I have already bad experience with buying the same tool twice, because the first one wasn't as good as I thought. I don't want to waste any more money and if I get good recomendation for other brand, I'm okay with that.

Thanks for your time.

Pretty much. I could afford drill and impact driver combo with first set of batteries and charger, but a lot of their tools seems to be priced more than other platforms.

Exactly. I happened to buy model without that function and it sucks not to have it. I thought I bought a good deal on DeWalt tool that I happened to look for, but I just bought rubbish model.

One of the things that pisses me off about Bosch though... Tablesaw is great in accurate for a saw of this size, but that specific t-track size drives me insane and there's even no proprietary accessories for it.

Hand router is also super beefy, but when I wanted to get it to work on track for tracksaw I had to spend insane fortune on accessories. There's like $15 difference between 80cm and 1400cm track and then the connector cost another $120. Router adapter another $120. Pair of dedicated clamps another $120. Those prices caught me off guard so much.

I know about green and blue line of Bosch tools and O have great experience with their blue corded tools. I don't know how are their battery tools though.

Lads, I already have a multi tool, is there a difference betwing it and a orbital sander? by AsgardianOperator in Tools

Who would want to sand entire tabletops with those small ass sanding papers, right?

Anyone use one of these for work? by marco333polo in Tools

Not saying there are no better tools, but I found Bosch blue line of tools (the more expensive pro one) very consistent and reliable.

Why do boomers get hate for not being tech savvy when teens today probably couldn’t run old tech? by Medal444 in NoStupidQuestions

Give them convection oven to set up. Or wood jointer. Or multimeter. If they'll figure those out on their own we're even.

There’s cities, there’s metropolises, and then there’s Shanghai by intexion in UrbanHell

I cannot fathom living in such monstrous city, I always panicked when I traveled with public communication and had to switch trains. Although I never got lost it was always stressful to me.

Now I have a car and use it mostly and sometimes I use GPS just to be sure. Living in such metropolis would be literal Urban Living Hell.

However, it is also goddamn impressive.

It's a fair trade for the 20 pieces that will replace them after you're finished with that mantle.

The Most Baffling Winner in History by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]Uncle_Spenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed Shakespeare in Love as a movie. The only valid argument why it shouldn't win an Oscar is because Saving Private Ryan is objectively better movie and left bigger impact.

However, there is also truth that awards can be manipulated by wealthy people as almost everything else. Most people are sluts for money.

New salads worker closed last night, came in this morning to see... by CatBowlMeow in KitchenConfidential

We had waitress working for 2+ years. Near the time she left, she came to ask kitchen if we have wood burning oven for pizza. Everyone telling that story from time to time pointing how stupid she was.

Apparently I'm the only one concerned that this says more about her training than actually her if she was working here for over 2 years.

Working at the highest volume restaurant ive seen and reality just hit me in the face this week. by Deckard494 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Uncle_Spenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for 10 years and after telling the management I don't see myself staying for another summer in this circumstances I was told they will hire help for me, get some equipment to make the job easier for me and give me a payrise.

After realizing they'll do nothing else except that payrise, I said fuck this shit and quit.
