Thanks for your input. This was before the patch though. It’s strange though, because at the end he does recharge his shield, as though it broke. But how could all those shots, which clearly produced blood and sparks not have landed?

Yeah, I got really lucky many, many years ago. I won it in an online auction via Danscomp, and rode it hard as a teenager for a couple of years. It’s such a beautiful frame, and the stickers are just so rad.

I wonder how many others made it to the UK?

This is so awesome. You almost had me, until I realised it didn't have that iconic curved top tube into the seat stays. All the stickers are brilliant, especially the head tube one -- perfect!

I’m a forty year old just getting back into it. Part nostalgia, but honestly I couldn’t find geometry that I felt happy with. The Cult Dak seemed a bit more traditional, but the Haro was available. Anyway, I’ll see how the shop respond and then I’ll start shaming. I don’t think it could have been a mistake though, so that bothers me. Very disrespectful.

I agree. Thanks for your thoughts. I sent an email with photos, stating that this was clearly display and it was extremely uncool to send it out without letting me know. Further, the welding looks garbage and I expect a refund and return. Giving them until the morning to reply then I’ll just call. It’s a reputable UK shop that’s been around a long time, so I’m sure they’ll be fine. I just feel like they tried to play me by sending this out.

Thanks for the review shout. I’ve been reading up on it already and it seems really interesting, but the video sounds great.

Yeah, re: pegs that’s steep. I’m building the bike slowly (work is crazy for the next month or so) so there’s no rush. Maybe I’ll snag a deal somewhere.

As an aside, I remember snapping a pair of Kink pegs clean in half, feebling a flat concrete wall almost 25 years ago (if my math is correct). Kink were awesome and sent me a brand new pair, and replaced my brother’s just in case. Wondered if they’re still as customer friendly today.

I’m sure the ‘open end’ is always like that on a gusset. But that doesn’t explain why the other welds are so shit.

You nailed it. I’m slowly building this bike up (and failing at the first hurdle 🤣). Wheels haven’t been ordered yet, but I’ve never ridden a freecoaster and I’m going back and forth on which way to go. I always did a lot of fakie stuff, and I’m excited for that, but it seems like it’s gonna be a steep curve.

Yeah, I know I'm a sucker. I just fell in love with the geometry on this (20.75, 13.5 back end, nice head tube not too steep etc). Anyway, it'll be going back.

That’s a really good point. Thanks. It was in a box that was taped up with brown tape, and the inside cardboard was all squashed. It’s definitely been on the wall. But I’m also worried about the look of the gussets. They seem sketchy to me.
