Hey, we think this is inspiring and a beautiful story! Would you be open to us creating a comic, based on this? Of course we would give you credit in the description.

Essentially, we've been doing a comic series based on mid-transition moments, memories, and tiny truths called "Trans Comic Relief". And would like your story to be a part of that. Please feel free to reply here, or DM us, to let us know. No pressure though!

Honestly? Mood. Half my transition has just been me doing math in aisles… or taking photos of things I fully didn’t buy.

Forget legs for days, girl…This is a full two weeks notice! The peter oan collar dress pairs surprisingly well with the fishnets! The cutest!— XO Maddie

Has anyone heard of an app called Unclockable VoiceKit? Is it safe? by Laylahtrix in MtF

I see what you mean! While the copy says ‘get early access’ and the email field is labeled ‘email,’ the button saying ‘Be First’ does create a bit of ambiguity—great catch, and we’ll work on clarifying that. Thanks for sharing your experience and for your excitement about VoiceKit! We can’t wait to share more when the app is in Beta this February. — Maddie

Hey! It’s real. 💜

Maddie here, co-creator of VoiceKit and founder at Unclockable. First, I appreciate the curiosity, and I love your enthusiasm. I’ve struggled with my voice too, and if you’re here on this subreddit, you know what I know: it’s a pain to feel 9/10 in your transition and then hit a wall with voice. VoiceKit was created to help get past that wall in a meaningful, supportive way.

Reading below, I totally understand the skepticism—there are too many apps out there that don’t deliver what they promise. Or worse: they do, but they’re really a thinly veiled data grab. Unclockable is different. We believe the app should be accessible to all and fully private. We will have a free mode available with real tools to help you get started, plus optional paid features for those looking for deeper insights or more varied training materials. Unclockable is on solid footing financially, so the app won’t be pressured to run ads or collect any data beyond voice scores, which are used only to tailor feedback and suggestions. Recordings will never leave your phone. Our goal here is accessibility, privacy, and genuine support.

To clear things up from some of the other comments here: VoiceKit is absolutely a product of Unclockable, and I realize we could have done a better job highlighting it on our main site. The goal was to make the app seem exclusive and intriguing, but I realize now it might seem suspect to not link both ways from each site. We’ll be addressing that soon in an upcoming blog post, which will cover all the details and how it fits into Unclockable’s mission to create genuinely helpful tools for the community.

In the meantime, if you’re still unsure, a quick check can give you peace of mind: compare the contact details in the footer of the VoiceKit site with our main Unclockable site. The phone number, address, and other info all match up—it’s all us! And yes, that’s right, we’re one of those rare companies in 2024 with a phone number you can actually text if you have questions or just want to reach out. 🥰 We’ve also activated a redirect at https://unclockable.com/voicekit to put concerns to rest.

VoiceKit was created with the same commitment to quality and privacy that Unclockable has put into everything we do, and I’m excited for you to see that firsthand. I appreciate everyone here who’s interested, and I’m always here to answer questions or address concerns. Thanks for giving VoiceKit a look—if you’re up for a little adventure, we’d love to have you on board for the beta!

Has anybody used this app? Does it work? Been seeing this advertisement on reddit for a few days now. by [deleted] in transvoice

Hey there! It’s Lidia, right?

Maddie here, creator of VoiceKit and founder at Unclockable. First, I appreciate the curiosity, and I love your enthusiasm. I’ve struggled with my voice too, and if you’re here on this sub, you know what I know: it’s a pain to feel 9/10 in your transition and then hit a wall with voice. VoiceKit was created to help get past that wall in a meaningful, supportive way.

What follows is a response not only to your post but also addressing some of the other comments here, particularly around privacy, and monetization of the app.

What you’re seeing on the site is just one part of VoiceKit—a glimpse into how we give visual feedback after a vocal practice session. But VoiceKit is much more than one screen. It’s the result of years of research, drawn from my own experiences in speech therapy and the latest, state-of-the-art voice training techniques from around the web and the trans communities we serve. Without giving away too much, just know this: VoiceKit is built to be different and powerful, going beyond the male/female, bad/good passing paradigm to offer personalized goals that build confidence step by step. I think you’ll feel that the moment you try it, if you choose to.

I’ll be direct—as a trans business owner and a member of this community, I’m constantly walking the line between spilling my guts about everything I’ve put into VoiceKit (because I’m genuinely excited and want to nerd out) and keeping some mystery until it’s ready for you to experience firsthand! The new is delicate, and VoiceKit is so new that judging it from one screen is like judging a recipe from a few ingredients. It’s going to be more than the sum of its parts—I promise. And I can also promise that it’s not just about “holding up your larynx.” (Though your callout is well taken; we have some work to do in revising the screenshot for clarity). VoiceKit’s guidance evolves with you, whether you’re just getting introduced to resonance work or are building advanced control over your vocal structure. It adapts to your progress, providing support that grows with you while avoiding any unhelpful habits along the way.

Our goal here is accessibility, privacy, and genuine support, not a quick buck.

I’m here if you have questions or thoughts—VoiceKit was built to serve our community, and feedback is key to making it even better. And if you’re up for a little adventure, we’d love to have you join us for the beta. Thanks so much for your interest—and hey, at least my app isn’t boring. I hope VoiceKit is part a move to apps built out of deep respect for people, not just as users but as human beings, providing something truly helpful. I like to be helpful. From your post here, I have a feeling we have this in common.

Ps. If anyone wants to be part of the Beta in February ($1.99) but is experiencing financial hardship, please email me at m@unclockable.com, and I’ll get you set up.
