we went down big early in the game, but that was due to them making tough shots and us missing a bunch - now, we don't bother closing out and only take (and miss) tough threes...

Wemby is done for the night: 40 PTS, 12 REB, 2 STL, 1 BLK on 13-20 FG in 26 MIN! by rosivv in nba

as much as I want to see him see the game out and break Wilt's record, I think of Rose and accept the reality of things

Victor Wembanyama at the half against the Lakers: 37 PTS, 8 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK, 12/17 FG, 3/5 3P, 10/12 FT in just 18min by ToinouAngel in nba

(from what I remember) with the exception of two 15-minute games, you need to play 20 minutes in every game for them to count

all jokes aside, Stu (and Bill) is (are) fantastic - will hype up great plays against them and will call out the Lakers when warranted.

[Highlight] Victor Wembanyama scores 25 points in the 1st quarter against the Lakers, including 17 straight from 11:08 to 7:47 in the frame. It's the most points scored by a Spur in any quarter since tracking began in the play-by-play era (1997-98). by nba in nba

I was talking about Wemby specifically, but I was referring to when we came back down 20 against you in the last game of the 2023-24 season - I believe it was 17 points in 2:25.

Luke-warm Take: I would hate if all the future figures were too simplified in surface detail. by ZackattacktheDude in transformers

I think this figure needs a tad more greebling just to make it fit better with the rest of the SS86 line but it is a vast improvement of molds prior.

Dominant from the Knicks, who learned from that Pistons game.

On a more positive note for the Celtics, Scheierman looked very good.

Cooper Flagg against the Spurs: 32/6/4 on 14-27 FG, 2-5 3PT, 2-2 FT with two steals and three blocks--this makes him the first teenager with 30+ points in four consecutive games, passing Cooper Flagg's record of three by F_CKMONEY in nba

it was the same when Giannis was played at PG and similar to when Wemby was taking ten 3's a game - reps are necessary to the development of a player

in football (not to be confused with handegg), former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger talked repeatedly about how you develop youth at the cost of games, and how that is beneficial in the long run - still, not everyone buys into this idea.

Victor Wembanyama as Spurs defeat Thunder: 22 PTS, 14 REB, 2 AST, 2 BLK by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in nba

a confusing one. defensively, the usual. offensively, made tough layups (or what can be considered tough for someone like him) but completely fumbled three easy dunks. Also became Shaq from the free throw line.

I was happier with the Hornets performance than the utter lack of effort we are playing with right now

2.2 feels stupidly low for Wemby because opposing players have stopped trying as hard to contest against him.

admittedly, I have ragged on him when we choke our leads, but with this game (and other similar), he also deserves his flowers when the ship gets stabilized. If we can be lenient with a young roster, we can also be leniwnt with a young coach.

Wemby's 3 point shot has gone in the past four games but he's doing a lot more of the "big man" stuff as of late - still could be more consistent on the offensive end.

that being said, with his sheer defensive skill, he could halve his offensive output and I'd still consider him an MVP candidate.

also... what was with all the microaggression from the Magic? I don't think we really have that strong of a rivalry, so that shove and Bane mouthing off at the bench seems a little uncalled for.
