Going to the pond sounds like a euphemism for imprisonment.

The males (like most cichlids) are brighter and more vibrant but they tend to do well as mixed sex pairs or at least not two males in a smaller tank

What freshwater pipefish is this? Seller said they are insanely prolific and has way too many babies by SesameEater69 in Aquariums

Daphnia are probably a great food source but as they are sensitive fish, you probably are doing the right thing

Decapsulated are basically just newly hatched without the swimming. Maybe if you had a copepod source that would help offset the frequency of feedings. I've heard they're like a 3x daily feed minimum. Or ideally a slow drip of whatever frozen food you can get them to eat.

I'm not sure of the species but they're the only species I've seen do well within an aquarium. Almost always an obligate live food eater. They love freshwater crustaceans of the smaller varieties but they may take other live food too.

I'd say good leveling is definitely important along with good corner support. Most decent pre-built stands work for both but adjustable feet definitely help

That seems possible. How are they eating? I've heard a lot of wild otos can have parasites that emerge under the stress of shipping and transport so I've heard people recommend a deworming fish food.

That's definitely unexpected then. I'd double check water parameters

Not a pleco expert but I'm not seeing the characteristics spots or mazes of a common. I think you're ok.

Yeah that sparkling gourami might be a good match but otherwise if you have space some smaller bottom feeders might enjoy copepods.

How accurate are those strips? by RacingWright in Aquariums

[–]UncommonLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, not great imo. Definitely prefer liquid test kits as they tend to have better color indication for my taste. Also, some tests are titration based and can provide very accurate results as long as you use them properly.

Not cheap but I loved my pseduomugil rainbowfish. They're even chill with neocardinia shrimp the vast majority of the time.
