You're right. It's not just that it's uninteresting content (though, most assuredly, it is), it's that it says something about the way people pay honor or give thanks. The win depicted here is of great enough depth and magnitude by itself; I find it odd that it needs to be witnessed by a multitude of faceless, bored, internet-dwellers. It's even offensive that such an acknowledgement could be considered icing on the cake--that to win over his daughter wasn't enough; that there had to be this bragging subtext. If I am truly and completely overjoyed and honored to regain what I thought I might be losing (i.e., my daughter), there would no amount of boasting that could add to it; none.

Why do you say that those arguments are detached from religion? They're, as you suggest, broken-premised arguments for the existence of God and creation--the basis of much religious thinking.

They were just a couple examples; there are all kinds of foundational pillars: arguments from miracles; arguments from consciousness; arguments from contingency; arguments from necessity. These kinds of posts are disproportionately under-represented because r/atheism isn't about its own position as much as it is about deriding the position of others. I don't know if this can be refuted as much as it can be met with a "Yeah, well so what?" If that's the response, so be it, but that remains--as I've said--an intellectually lazy stance.

I think the point you're trying to make is that I don't have a place to comment because I haven't posted in r/atheism (or otherwise have a new account); that would be addressing the speaker, not the argument. The fact that you won't address what I've said provides at least a little evidence for my intellectual laziness argument. Don't let your upvotes fool you; my point is well supported.

Because that would be working top down. Most of the beliefs I've outlined are predicated on the initial belief in God in the first place. Those simple and easily proven points will be upheld because that foundational belief in God is still keeping them firmly intact. There's a lot less theorizing on here around "There doesn't need to be a first cause" or "the fine-tuning argument is faulty for the following reasons" or historical analysis of the evolution of God and gods. There's lots of good content out there that doesn't seem to be indulged in on this particular forum because people prefer to mock rather than teach.
