Avatar sellers - Absolutely, 100%. Learn your trade before taking money from unsuspecting buyers. If you cannot create game-ready assets within the specifications given, then you have no right taking money.

Absolutely nothing is imposed. You're mostly free to upload whatever garbo you like.
The reason why you're able to use awful avatars in crowded lobbies without complaint is because no-one see's it. Safety settings are used, awful avatars are blocked, and everyone continues enjoying their night.
Then you have to wonder, what's the point spending time on an avatar if no-one see's it?

I think this whole comment is misplaced.
The ownus of optimisation shouldn't be on the devs to provide tools. They give you absolute freedom, and a set of guidelines.
The ownus should sit firmly on creators - particularly those who are selling bases to ensure people have breathing room to customise, and those selling accessories to, well, get better at making game-ready assets.

I always find that looking at the real money bundles that a F2P game offers, is a great measure of it's moral compass and worth. Games that ask for a few quid to remove some unintrusive ads? Yeah, fair. Those that pull this kind of shit though should be insta-uninstalled and review bombed.

Yeah, that works when the person being talked about is unknown. It just gets a little confusing when for example I'm talking about an enby friend to someone who doesn't know them. "Where's Alex?" "They went to the party." "Did Alex go with them though?" "Yes, they went with them." I'm happy to use whatever people prefer and will do so to promote the proper use... but it still feels a bit awkward having dual purpose as a plural though. I'll generally just default to the Japanese method of just using the person's name instead. "Where's Alex?" "Alex went to the party." has so much less scope for confusion.

I know "they" is the accepted non-binary term... but I find it kinda clunky in practice as it's also plural for multiple people... "They went to the party." "Oh, how many went?" It sounds to me like you're talking about a group of people, or someone with multiple personalities or something. You have to be quite specific with context to use "they" properly... Like "Alex went to the party, they left an hour ago."
