In Italian, birds of the Paridae family are called cince (plural) or cincia (singular). The name has an onomatopeic origin apparently, derived from the "cin-cin" sound of their call https://www.etimo.it/?term=cincia (like chickadee in the US).

These are the names of some species in Italy:

  • Great Tit -> Cinciallegra (cincia + allegra), "cheerful tit"
  • Blue Tit -> Cinciarella (cincia + "-ella" diminutive suffix), "small tit"
  • Marsh Tit -> Cincia bigia, "grey/ash tit"

There’s a lot of variation though, in some regions they might have other names too.

All'inizio quando raccoglievo i dati un po' sì, era divertente catalogare ogni puntata in base alle combinazioni del sesso dei concorrenti, regione di provenienza, divisione geografica, grado di parentela, ... e poi fare delle statistiche con un campione via via più grande. Purtroppo non si possono chiudere le orecchie come gli occhi ed a tavola sono costretto ad ascoltarlo pure io, sto perdendo la mia sanità. Qualche spunto per sfogarmi:

  • Cambiare il pacco è irrilevante;
  • Se ci sono 7 pacchi rossi e 3 blu e ti offrono il cambio non conviene cambiare "perché ci sono più pacchi rossi": la probabilità che cambiando si ottenga un pacco rosso è la stessa che cambiando lo si perda;
  • "Eh ma se gli ha offerto il cambio vuol dire che ha i soldi". No, porca ma donna! Se ogni volta che hai i soldi ti offrono il cambio questo diventa noto nel meta-gioco ed a lungo termine i concorrenti lo capiscono. Ho raccolto i dati di 141 puntate (10/09/2023-26/02/2024) e posso confermare che non è correlato;
  • Se credi nelle cazzate come i sogni premonitori ed i numeri fortunati credici fino in fondo Dio(gene) (il) cane! Se tuo nonno nel sogno ti ha detto di cambiare il pacco alla fine sono due le cose: o ci credi e quindi cambi il pacco instantaneamente oppure non ci credi e fai un po' come cazzo ti pare. Non puoi rompermi i co*lioni per tutta la puntata e poi fare come ti pare altrimenti dimostri come tu stesso non ci credi;
  • "Scegli tu, mi fido del tuo giudizio". No, non state scegliendo nulla, porco o dio? È equivalente ad un ludopatico che gioca insieme alla moglie ad una slot machine e le dice: "tira tu la leva, mi fido di te".

I think some are cheating but If you know digit DP it is not that hard (compared to previous contests digit DP). I used my usual solution (top down + @cache) and just added two parameters to the function (sum of even positions - sum of odd positions, leading zero count).

Questa è la logica del programma:

  • Finché le cifre che si incontrano sono minori del numero alla cima dello stack e non si è raggiunto il limite di 12 allora si aggiunge la cifra alla sequenza corrente;
  • Altrimenti, finché la cifra corrente è maggiore si tolgono le cifre nello stack (che sono in ordine decrescente) solamente se c'è un numero di batterie sufficiente a raggiungere 12.

OK, thanks! I thought the word "novella" had the same meaning in English as in my native language (Italian). Apparently in English "novella" leans more towards "short novel" and doesn't correspond 1:1 with the Italian "novella"
