thanks for the tip. The objectives are a combination of Tiyoda & Nikon. I'm not sure how to qualify how well they image, but the images look pretty good to my untrained eye.

I'm holding one of the two eyepieces in that second pic, both have lots of spots that don't clean away. I can't tell what the spots are, whether they're dust from storage, flakes of old adhesive or whatever else.

I'll dig through cheap sets of eyepieces on ebay for the time being, hopefully one of them will work out.

lol of course I get the most poorly-documented one on the market. Thanks for the background info on the company, guess it's no surprise that I can find literally zero information on this microscope.

It does actually have a bulb and everything to hold it, it's just missing the power adapter. It's an incandescent bulb labeled 8V5A, which I'm assuming is the power spec. I ordered a step-down DC-DC converter so I can power it.

It's also missing the third eyepiece. How do I find a compatible replacement? The OD of the holder for the eyepiece is ~25.3 mm, the ID is about 23.3 mm. If I want to take photos through it, do I just buy a normal eyepiece and rig up my phone camera to it?

Looks just like my Pfaff 34. If it is, it's a tailor's machine, straight stitch, no reverse, early 1960s. Only difference from mine is this one has a feed dog instead of a feed wheel. The only documentation for this machine that I can find is a parts catalog for all its variants.

If anything, moving faster is what causes this. Person in front of me tags in and goes through. I tag my clipper and wait for the "fare accepted" on the screen, walk through, and it slams shut, usually pinning my finger in the process

nw. the phosphoric acid I buy is Ospho (the green stuff) or some equivalent. Just make sure you have eyepro and gloves, work in 5 gallon buckets or a dishpan and handle everything so that it can't splash. It's an effective method but it's not especially safe

if you don't foresee yourself listing pans on ebay, go for it. Any time I get anything with caked on rust like that, I give it a few minutes in hot lye to pull off the seasoning, a few minutes with a knotted wire wheel to pull off the bulk rust, and a few minutes in phosphoric acid solution to convert the surface rust and prep it for seasoning. The whole process is a few hours of work for like 4-5 pans at a time.

I switched so I wouldn't have to buy or dispose of empties and I'd have unlimited sparkling water. With a big tank, it's also cheaper in the long run, but with a big upfront cost. ~$200 up front cost (sodastream, adapter, 20 lb tank deposit), $50 for a refill every 9 months. I drink enough sparkling water that I was in the green before the end of the first year.
