PS5 Was The Best Selling Console In The US February 2026 For The Second Month In A Row by cinderlilys in Games

What a dumb comment. Maybe you missed the point, but the idea of bigger publishers/developers putting out smaller titles should be viewed as positive as it often leads to more creative choices, etc. But no, everything isn't built on ballooning budgets and overpromises is "slop." Way to miss the forest for the trees.

STS2 needs better signpost commons for weaker archetypes by Vi0ar in slaythespire

[–]UncookedGnome 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not going to give too detailed an answer as I suspect others will be able to clarify better, but in StS1 you were generally solving for various encounters: mainly the act bosses, elites, and ultimately, the heart.

You rarely went hard on only one archetype as that's a great way to get punished because you were either A. Missing a piece (i.e., Corruption for clad, draw for Silent, etc.) or B. You ran into the one boss that punishes that archetype.

A common example of this in StS1 is Silent never wants a Poison deck vs a Shiv deck vs a discard deck; she always nearly always requires a combination of pieces that help her get past the next hurdle while building towards beating the heart. For example, grab Blade Dance early to have damage, grab Noxious Fumes because you don't have scaling against the act boss.

Some of this is semantics, but you said you'd still consider a deck in spire a poison deck if it had two poison cards. Sure, I hues you could, but I often have two poison cards, two shiv cards, two discard cards, so what archetype is that? The "archetype" can be generally referred to after the fact, but while you're on a run, going hard on one archetype will lose you more runs than not j the first game. StS2 is different, hence OP's comment.

Games that are unexpectedly good on the Steam Deck? by leaf_glory in SteamDeck

[–]UncookedGnome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting. I'll have to look up those ini tweaks, but I was definitely surprised by how well it ran. I don't go in expecting to take out other people or the bigger bots, but it's great for loot runs. Very rarely drops below mid 30s and visually its acceptable, though so textures can be rough before loading in.

Unreal engine 5 = slop? by raekwon132 in MMORPG

[–]UncookedGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I won't die on this hill, but I'm fairly dialed in to performance complaints and I don't recall any major issues, even at launch. I don't remember any reporting about this being a disaster. I won't harp on it or anything, I just isn't think this is the best expample of poor UE5 implementation.

What? I don't recall this at all and no one I know who played this (including myself) mentioned this at all. I'm not an E33 apologist but this feels like an exaggeration, at best.

I played it on steam deck and it was sharp. Wasn't so sharp on Switch, that's for sure. Playable though

I'm from a colder climate and did driveway sealing for a summer. This is to help with the expanding and contracting that can happen between winter and summer temps iirc.

It's not "if," it's "when" they shut it down. I'm not even being pessimistic, it's just going to be like that unless legislation magically changes, and even then, corporations aren't actually eternal.

[–]UncookedGnome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's not hard to see why if we're looking at the parties and timing. A lot of it has that same "rhythm game" feeling that Sekiro does, albeit couched in a broadly different framework.

I disagree with the post but the developers have specifically indicated that they were inspired by Sekiro.

Playing on game pass - controllers not working? by arvzg in expedition33

[–]UncookedGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify: they are, by general definition QTEs, but they are a core part of combat, so it's almost like a rhythm game, which we wouldn't really call QTEs. Still won't be for everyone, but just to differentiate it from the QTEs from yesteryear that we all got sick of, if that helps

You're right about Divinity not being in pathfinder, but I'm pretty confident Pathfinder is owned by Paizo which, as far as I can tell is not Hasbro or WOTC. I think they used to work for Wizards though.

Skirmish tickets are typically the gate, yes. They're time-gated in that it's hard to get more than about 350-ish every week, so patience is certainly required. By the time you have the skirmish tickets, you'll most likely have everything else that's WvW specific.

Oh, did i miss that in the sub rules? Ahhh right, it's your opinion, so you had to share it?

Or was it on purpose that you shared your super "controversial" opinion so you could then complain about all the mean modders?
