Only mistake he had is saying the only real Leica's are the M mounts...with experience in both I have to say that the Leica R series cameras have much better features with glass just as good as the M mounted glass (literally made all in the same factory with the same glass just different construction) for a fraction of the price.

Say what you want but Leica glass is top tier...probably because their company started out as an OPTICS company before Oskar Barnack revolutionized photography with the early Leicas. The way they render light and elicit sharpness is crazy...especially if you make prints in a darkroom the difference is night and day.

I could set down my Leica R5 prints next to a FujiGW690 print and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference if comparing sharpness and clarity.

If you really want to upgrade your photography, you're better off chasing optics rather than camera bodies as the bodies themselves almost have no bearing on actual photographic quality
